I think many people share your feelings about Women's Tennis which is probably why it is reflected in both the BBC coverage and the prize money. I can't get worked up about it, as apart from the Williamses the others seem to be identikit leggy blondes with shrieks which can shatter crystal.
Oh I know how unfair that is!!! So don't anybody take any notice! Actually DD1 and SIL had tickets on Tuesday and really enjoyed watching Venus Williams a well as some doubles. IMO Serena is just TOO muscly and strong to be a pleasure to watch.
Might be a good opportunity to catch up with some housework/ironing/weeding/everything else as we have a very special little visitor ? next week along with his Mummy for a few days

I am having a break from tennis today. I am not a fan of the women's matches nor of the Williams sisters.

No doubt I will be watching football later.

Happy to say little boy and mum got back home about 9:30pm.

The washing machine arrived at just after 6.30pm. After studying the instruction booklet (it`s not like any machine I`ve had before), the washing is now on the go.

soop Andy worked for his money this evening- that was so close at times.

I have watched so much tennis that I only watched a little of the football. Unfortunately I saw both goals being scored by Portugal. Wales will get a heroes welcome when they return home and so well deserved.

Tara has retired to bed, having had such an exhausting few hours watching TV I may join her.

Another day moving faster than I can assimilate. g&t, pleased you feel brighter. Finally worked out who daphneb is, goodness, some folk are slow , hope things are better with you. nellie' isn't it dreadful when the DGC are hurt? Our youngest was here today and left with a swollen cheek where he crashed into the floor. Really, really pleased his parents were here and saw it happen. We had an excellent afternoon at the beach, sand castles all round. Lovely to switch off from the day to day stuff. The infection doesn't sound good soop, lots of care needs to be taken. Hope the washing machine turned up number. So frustrating just waiting. The beach has worn me out, so an early night for me. Take great care everyone, so many health and life problems.

May have to go for a walk; the Murray/Tsonga match is too much like penalty shoot outs. I've always loved you, Jo-Wilfred....but not THAT much.

Just catching up. To some of us holidays are a distant memory, 4 years for us, but we have had them and no- one can take the memories away. In the meantime we can dream.

nellie how awful for you all,things with our C/GC are terrifying. Was it the Manchester CH? A wonderful place. Our GD 17 now, has been under their care since it opened when she was transferred from Booth Hall. I hope he is soon home and you can relax.

Just sat down with a coffee and piece of chocolate to watch the Wales match. Why do people when you have tears running down your face and can't get your breath and can't stop coughing say brightly "you alright". DH eventually realised I was nearly expiring and got some water. Breathing again and routing for the Welsh to win.

Today I went on my own to the Hockney exhibition. Portraits of lots of people sitting in the same chair. Not together of course. It was fun to listen to certain braying comments of approval, but on the whole I did enjoy it. I meant to see the Summer Exhibition while I was there, but was exhausted over the small Hockney one, so another time. I need to use my membership anyway. Tomorrow a local concert with U3A. Life in the fast lane sure is exciting ?

I moved away-prepared salad and scraped pots then found that Murray had taken the 2nd set yay!

Will look out for col sanders lookalike don't suppose that I will have any idea who he is though

I have had to take a break from the TV because I watched Roger as well as flitting between the match on BBC2, then the first set which Andy won- I have square eyes. I need to sort out my supper because I want to watch the football at 8pm.

I had great ideas for what I was going to do today and amazingly, nothing got done.

number never say "never" . There are lots of places I will may never get to again and even more that I will NEVER get to at all (not always entirely bothered e.g Disneyland Paris ) but I refuse to say it out loud!!

I`m still awaiting the new washing machine. The delivery window is 2pm to 9pm, but I hope it`s not going to be at 9pm!
Mia still has faint signs of oil on her, but looks much better than yesterday. Funny you should say that about Rory and the 10 o`clock news Soop, Mia strolls through from wherever she`s been sleeping on the dot of 10pm, ready for her treats, not Dreamies though, she`s on the dentabite treats, vets orders, but she loves them, so that`s OK.

Phew! My little DGS2 14mnths broke his thumb on Saturday when he pulled the small hall table onto himself, it is all strapped up now. Two visits to hospital, A&E and then next day the fracture clinic.

Last night, he choked badly on his dinner seemed to have trouble breathing and was rushed off to A/E by ambulance.

A night in hospital with mum and a little boy bouncing about happy as larry this morning. However the consultant wanted to check there was no food stuff in his airways so he has just had a bronchoscopy.

Nothing was found but terrifying for his parents and grand parents. I think they may have to stay in for another night after the GA.
Thankfully they are near a large specialist children's hospital.

I'm fine. Just very busy ( earning money to go on cruises)

What happened next, they went off and danced

Yes, I am feeling better, managed to speak to the people involved and have straightened a couple of things out.
