Charley its ok we have a 7 seater - lots of room. Bring Tara - the garden is looking very cat worthy!!

Kittye , Grampy and I have been on a salad only diet for over a week.... I'm rebelling {smile] If you skip the rice - the main course has only vegetables and spices.... surely that cant count !!

I will come if you have made a luscious dessert NandG but curry is a definite no- no for me. If I smell a chilli my lips start to swell. Perhaps you could rustle up a Chinese (very plain, chicken and cashew nuts is fine) for me but I don't want to put you to any trouble, just send out for it.

I am inclined towards magnums in all their variety and a sit in the garden as its lovely and sunny here .

Alas, just smoked salmon with tomatoes and capers. I meant to have salad leaves with it but I've run out. Perhaps 'er next door can spare me a lettuce leaf when she gets in from work?

It's time for me to log off. Before I do, I would like to say that Jingle would be welcome to join us. Although I doubt that she ever will. It's a great shame that so much angst came out of a personal mini-spat between the two of us.

Some good news from our pal who has been visiting her husband in Oban hospital. He hasn't suffered another stroke. He has a serious bladder infection (hence the midnight call from the hospital). He's on a drip and being given strong antibiotics. He was tearful during her visit. She is now having a lie down at home. MacS will drive to Oban on Monday. The road is a tricky one. Our pal usually enjoys driving...only, like a few folk in the village, not on that road.

G&T Didn't Wales play well...I loved the knicker-throwing celebration.

The tennis has been fabulous. I had a quick shower before I sort out my Chicken Kiev supper with at least 2 glasses of dry white wine, ready to watch the football. My cup runneth over.

I am in my night attire and I doubt if NanaandGrampy would wish to see me in this state. Tara is home for the evening, only one more day to negotiate the back to front cat flap.

That sounds better news soop, pleased your friend is more stable. Afraid I'm not a sport person but have loads to catch up with on the tv box so will have feet up doing very little. It's been a fun few days but tiring, will be sure there is some down time for us both, not as young as we were .

Its a bright start to the day here although there is the lingering scent of curry in the air !!

Glad to hear your good news soop hopefully with the right treatment he will continue to improve. Old age is not for the faint hearted eh?

I do like chicken kiev Charley so I wouldn't have minded a taste. I am very impressed that Tara is not phased by the back to front cat flap. We have one too for Sam. When he perceives a threat in the garden he runs at the door full tilt , bashing it open - how he has not knocked himself out yet I will never know !! The two youngest grandchildren have also used it as an escape route too

I'm not a sports fan either Corner , luckily even though Grampy is ( I swear he watch a cat playing if it had a ball !!)he is content to watch on his iPad .So the TV is not off limits.

More crafting for me today , the latest fad is gifts for teachers as children leave their class. So mine have put their requests in. I've finished DGS2 request for his teacher, I'll add a picture. The lump in the apple is an EOS lip balm, so at least its useful

I've also added my poppy picture. I love poppies and each year they manage to bloom and die while we're away on holiday so I have to be satisfied with a picture. This year we had one solitary late bloomer so I got to enjoy it for once.

NanaandGrampy the weather here is perfect at present. I do love the poppy.

A few years ago a neighbour's cat chased Tara through the cat flap, he unfortunately was too large for the cat flap so ended up wearing it around his waist. I insisted that his owner fix the cat flap! I then decided to buy a microchip cat flap for Tara and she felt safer and I was more than happy to watch the 2 bullies, brothers, bang their heads to no avail.

I had to change it to a normal one because it took an extra 2-3 seconds to get in the flap and Tara was bitten very badly on her rear and my wallet took a long time to recover also.

I think that I will break the habit of a lifetime and do some work today. It is the perfect day for washing. More tennis and football today- bliss.

I'm sure that I only stepped out of the kitchen for a minute and all hell was let loose while I was gone.

I'm very glad that equilibrium has been restored. You have created a lovely space soop, for us all to find friends and good company and the strength to take up our everyday problems again.
I really hope that Alea will come back when she feels ready for a reincarnation.

I hope your friend is continuing to improve. I used to be prone to UTIs and apart from not wishing that misery on anyone, the confusion they sometimes bring to older people is frightening.

I'm glad Mrs P's knickers are firmly on again I had a worrying moment myself yesterday when our visitors arrived early and I was only clad in my suncream.
You would think when people said they didn't think they could be ready to leave their hired villa by 10.00 am. that they wouldn't manage to arrive at our house before then.

However they were unnecessarily grateful not to have to spend the day finding things to do in the hot sun and brought us a second bottle of gin.
I've brought into the kitchen of course, along with some champagne. I think celebrations are called for.? ?

We caught the penalty shoot-out between Germany and Italy. It must be an awful moment for the chap who tries to score and misses.

More tennis today. I shall do my ironing and watch the match at the same time...who says that a woman can't multi-task.

The rain is intermittent. The garden doesn't need it as everything is blooming marvellous. Gunnerra will be photographed again tomorrow. It's way up in the tree canopy. Like something one would happen across in the jungle.

love the poppy n&g, we had some here when we moved in but along came Wales and West Utilities and the poppies lost the battle - but we do now have a gas supply . Our neighbour has some yellow ones, I'm hoping they migrate. The gift is just right I would think, our lot are agonising over what to buy their teachers, not sure when this began, I don't recall buying anything for my teachers but I guess that was back in the dark ages.

There is not enough space on the naughty step for you lot.

soop I agree, Novak did not appear to be 100% but as he said there was a lot riding on his Wimbledon play. I would love to see Andy win Wimbledon again- he has been second or third in the world for so long, it would be lovely for him to win again in front of his home crowd.

I am giving tennis a miss today- I do not particularly like watching the ladies play.

The only good thing about the missed penalties last night was that it was not one man hanging his head in shame- there were several who missed.

I am really looking forward to tonight's match between France and Iceland. I would love Iceland to win- they have nothing to lose whereas France are playing in front of their home crowd. I will record Casualty, watch the football and flit between Dragons Den as well. A busy evening for me I think.

There has been wall to wall sunshine here today, as it should be in July. One would think that Wimbledon was in a different country- we had no rain here yesterday= they were flitting on and off the courts like bees.

I have finished an on line shop so that will arrive tomorrow pm. The window company is sending somebody to reverse my cat flap-Tara will be pleased, that is if she notices. Luckily she is bright enough to work it out for herself.

Tsonga match was amazing. The fifth set went to 16 games ( I seem to recall) - lost count at one point, as did the umpire
Iceland, being an underdog, gets my support. I won't be watching the game, but I shall catch the final score.
Tara will master the cat flap no matter where it's located and no matter whether it's the right way round, or not. She's a very bright feline.

It has been a strange kind of week. Unsettling and down in the dumps (for me) at times. Nothing stays the same. And yet, I like the familiar because it feels safer.
