Oh goodness. I haven't been about for a day or so and there's a very chilly wind in the kitchen. I'm saddened. Don't know what else to say other than that. As individuals we must all do what we think or feel is right for us. We can only make decisions, on whatever level, on the information we have in that moment. I hope those of us who have shared their struggles recently will accept my good wishes and hugs, you aren't forgotten. I will drop back in when I can in hope - and with cake smile.

I'm not allowed on this thread as I'm on a low carb diet (no cupcake.allowed) and I've not rescued any stray cats recently. But I accidentally fat-fingered my iPad just in time to read about GT's wife and her knickers shock

I must say I won't be reading any further as I didn't think it was that kind of thread blush though, in the spirit of live and let live, and what you do in the privacy of your own thread is your business, I won't be reportimg it to GNHQ.

Morning all !

Trust me * Anya* hearing about Mrs Ps knickers is a relief to us all as there have been some knicker issues here of late ( missing , inside out etc !!) Don't worry about your diet, we cater to all...how about a wonderful fruit salad ( or failing that a rice cracker?)No icons available !!

Cornergran good thing about chilly winds is they blow themselves out. Its sunshine and roses here today. Which is lucky as I have a huge amount of crafting to do. I've not had a lot of time lately with all the estate agent stuff etc.

But today I have promised myself I will get a good portion done. Housework can wait till tomorrow - after all dust IS a protective covering for furniture !

Hope the sun is shining on you all x

You will be glad to know that Mrs P's knickers are firmly back where they ought to be. Think I'll go out when wales next play.

Charleygirl Sat 02-Jul-16 10:19:42

What a superb evening watching tennis as well as Wales win convincingly. I had two glasses of wine to assist me. A friend rang when I was eating my supper and watching TV and I decided I can ring her today, the sport was much more important.

I will be watching Andy play today- I am not too sure who his opponent is. It will be a shock and quite likely if Novak goes out later this morning. There are some superb players this year- such a pity about the awful weather interrupting so many matches.

thatbags Sat 02-Jul-16 10:34:31

Today I have unplugged the phone. 99% of calls to the house phone nowadays are spam. Yesterday there were about a dozen. Had one already this morning. Enough is enough!

Charleygirl Sat 02-Jul-16 10:36:31

I receive on average one a month- I am not complaining.

Just about to go and help DD1 prepare for a 1st birthday party for her DGD3 but popped into the kitchen for some calming time as the storms in our family and the country continue to rage. Upset to see there are storms here too. I don't need to hang around for that. Going off again in the hope that soop will be able to calm things down. sad

GandTea Sat 02-Jul-16 10:45:32

Storms are past now, fair weather ahead smile

GandTea Sat 02-Jul-16 10:57:40

TB's I have PM'd you re phone calls.

Bellanonna Sat 02-Jul-16 11:02:47

Yes, it's another day. Normal service. Good weather all round. It is actually quite sunny here in the SE so I'm going to do some weeding. HAPPY day to one and all?

Elrel Sat 02-Jul-16 11:15:52

Was sunny in West Mids but cloudy now and a perceptible drop in temperature. Have a good, productive day everyone, unless, of course, you're chilling out.
Must go and be a bit productive myself. DGD coming this afternoon so a chance to be with her on our own for a change, delighted that she asked to come.

Good morning to all my Granspals. Thank you for many kind messages.

The wee fall out between Jingle and me, should have been resolved when we both apologised to each other. I'm sorry that a mini crisis in "la la land" ensued. I'm sorry to lose Alea. We shall miss her. flowers

The purpose for my wish to create a virtual place in which people who need support come together, stems from personal experiences of having to keep my worries (as a child) to myself. I'm definitely not a saint. In fact, I'm atheist. If anything, I'm Buddhist.

At midnight, our friend was contacted by Oban hospital. Her husband, also a dear friend, was taken from the Campbeltown Care Home to the hospital on Thursday. His condition is rapidly deteriorating. A close neighbour has driven her to Oban (some 60+ miles away) and we now wait to hear further news.

Elrel Sat 02-Jul-16 11:20:57

I may have already mentioned, DS, who is approaching the big 40, announced a few, very few, months ago he was entering his first triathlon. He had not been on a bike for 20 years and not swum much at all. Relieved and delighted to say 'He did it!'
He and his DP bought their first house this week too. Quite a week for them!!

Bellanonna Sat 02-Jul-16 11:25:10

Oh dear. That's such a long way away. I wonder if she is staying in Oban while she waits for news? A really difficult time for her.

Bellanonna Sat 02-Jul-16 11:26:28

Well done him, Eirel! Obviously still got what it takes.

soop Sat 02-Jul-16 11:27:58

Elrel Such spirit. Well done to your husband. Isn't he youthful? My eldest son is about to celebrate his 55th. hmm smile

soop Sat 02-Jul-16 11:33:58

Bellanonna I'm dreading the next phone call. Although, he has already survived three strokes. His twin, our lovely next door neighbour, died a year ago. She was a lifelong non smoker. Lung cancer, killed her. It's her husband who is also in hospital in Lochgilphead suffering with dementia. All we can do is wait...

Elrel Sat 02-Jul-16 11:40:45

Soop. So sorry for your friend and her husband. Thank you for creating this thread. ?

soop Sat 02-Jul-16 12:32:02

Last night's sky...

Bellanonna Sat 02-Jul-16 13:13:41

That's such an unusual picture soop. I'm wondering what time it was?

Jalima Sat 02-Jul-16 13:31:33

Elrel you must have been pregnant in that long, hot summer of 1976
I remember it well, DS arrived just as the temperature went up and up and up.
^ My eldest son is about to celebrate his 55th.^ soop you must have been a very young mum!

I think we could do with a few of those degrees heat from 1976 and a bit more sunshine at the moment.

So lovely to spend a few minutes in la la land, it helps one regain a degree of calm after the maelstrom of some threads smile.

Galen Sat 02-Jul-16 13:44:00

I LIKE LA LA LAND

Jalima Sat 02-Jul-16 13:46:47

Lovely, isn't it
Especially for shallow thinkers like me smile
