NanaandGrampy Anyone who can perform wearing all that gear, has to be super fit. Us lot are rooting for your granddaughter as we slurp Champagne .

We made a profit of £32 and have shared the spoils equally. I sold an original watercolour for the price of the mount. Not grumbling. It was a happy couple of hours spent blethering with the local villagers. Free coffee/tea/home-baked scone. My waist band is tight at the moment.

Arrived home to catch the end of Andy's second set (which he lost)...after much hollering, he rallied and won. That's our boy!

Charleyg I'm assuming that the second semi-final is to be played this afternoon. Shall need to check before I miss anything.J ust as well that I did. Raonic and Tomic are on court. Yay! I lurve tennis.

I have square eyes so I am having a rest from TV for a few hours.

Tizliz and Alea I also thought for a fleeting moment that was Grace flying through the air but then I applied common sense and even if she could do it, Grace prefers to rest her eyes.

Andy will play Raonic, the Canadian, who has just beaten the Australian Tomic. That should be a good match, potentially a learning experience for Raonic. Doesn't it seem that having Lendl back on board has put a new spring in Andy's step?

Soop, pleased you made a sale, pity you can`t have a little art gallery at your house with a sign outside, the tourists would flock in! Only one problem, parking would be bad near that bend!
I had 2 nice surprises in the post today. First a box of books from someone on another forum with whom I exchange books, then a lovely box of chocolates from someone else on there, thanking me for sending her a book, so a good Saturday.

When I arrived in town today, I wondered why a section of the marketplace was fenced off, until an attractive young blonde lady stepped up to the microphone and began to sing. What a wonderful soprano voice! She sang Nessum Dorma, followed by Time to Say Goodbye, I didn`t have time to stay for any more, she was called Rebecca Newman, and was promoting her upcoming tour, anyone heard of her?
Daughter Dawn arrived earlier, pulled up all the weeds in the back yard and down the passage at the side of the house, it looks a lot neater now.

Alea, so sorry, I meant to add that your mum`s photo is lovely, she looks nice. Was she German?

Yes my mother was from Berlin. She met my Dad after the end of the war when her office had been evacuated to the Harz Mountains. He went to extraordinary lengths to bring her back to Scotland after he was demobbed in (I think) 1946, including having a question raised in the House of Commons by his MP.
They married in Scotland in 1947.

Grampy and I had a good laugh at the picture Tizliz . For a minute I did think it was Grace ( who I sometimes wonder if she is 'stuffed').

Watched our granddaughter fight , she did her best but her opponent beat her. I know she was disappointed but this is the element she finds hardest. Team Kumite later where she and her team mates fight together.

I agree about all the protective gear , she used to fight without it but getting thumped hurts as she told me !

Grampy and I enjoyed our carpet picnic but what has happened to pork pies??? It was dry and tasteless ( luckily we had some bubbly to wash it down) !!

number Our home in Cornwall was very much larger than our present wee hoos. I had room for a gallery and sold well over 100 paintings. Anyway, since arriving in Scotland, I've sold some of my work from a gallery in Lochgilphead. The village has an annual art show. Prices have to be pegged low. These days, I prefer to paint for pleasure.
Isn't it lovely to receive a gift in the post? You deserve it.

Alea The final set had its moments. I am looking forward to tomorrow afternoon's final. Double choc ices in the freezer.

anno Raonic has the face of a boy and the towering physique of a giant. He never seems to get flustered unlike his coach when he was competing.
I like Lendl. His expression seldom changes. I too believe that Andy has more of a spring in his step. Oh boy! Wimbledon is fast approaching. The housework is ever so slightly neglected for the entire fortnight. It doesn't get scruffy but the dust is allowed to hang around a little longer depending on who is on court...I have my favourites. Do you?

I shall need to pack away the stuff that we took and brought home again from the sale. I did pay a very small amount for a good piece of pottery. I like pots.

Were the pork pies 'Walkers'? My husband prefers them to any others. Sometimes, if he's lucky, we manage to buy one from a shop in Oban. He likes the light, melt in the mouth pastry. I of course need to watch my figure.

Home at last after a very traumatic journey with delayed flights and unhelpful disability assistants. It's obvious I can't do a flight of 20 steps so why ask?
Anyway it was a good holiday and Bella was such a help. I want to kidnap her!

I am shocked, our DIL has just sent us a photo taken today in Disneyland Paris, Four armed French soldiers patrolling amongst the children.

That is a very sad state of affairs g&tea, but unfortunately a reflection of the times, I fear.
Is it me or are (most of) the other threads getting heated and a bit nasty again?
We have so much to be thankful for so why do some people have to waste their lives bickering and sniping?

One of my GS' friends who had a school trip to Paris has had it cancelled ,the parents are all in agreement . And my friend who is expecting her S and NZ born GD have been told that they have cancelled their planned week in Paris. Friend is pleased as she will have them for longer but so sad for the French and of course for the travellers whose plans are changed.

Alea I have just seen on fb, a short video of a dog which looked very like Grace, dragging her/ his bed around the house, in order to lie in a large sunny patch on the carpet! I know Grace is far too lazy laid back to go to such trouble so it can't be her!
