I do hope that you are able to drink the virtual wineI am sending you phoenix! Cats do have a habit of being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

You are so lucky it wasn't worse but that was a terrible experience to have.
A friend of mine lost a front tooth because of a dog jumping up at the wrong moment.

I hope your injury soon improves, phoenix.

OMG you are not safe getting out of bed-you are so lucky that you did not break a bone. You have sufficient injuries for now. If you would like OS to come here for re-training please feel free.

I do hope that the appearance is the worst and that it is not too painful.

I currently have quite an impressive injury, namely a cut/grazed cheekbone and a rather fetching black eye!blush I needed to go to the loo in the night, and not wanting to turn the bedroom light on and disturb Mr P, decided that I could venture forth in the dark.

We have lived here since 2005, and the bedroom layout has not been changed, so I was pretty confident that I could negotiate the short distance to the door without too much trouble. What I had not factored in to my plan was Oliver Sprout, who (along with Digby) was asleep on the end of the bed. Recently OS has decided that he wants to stay out at night, I don't approve but he can be VERY insistent, but for reasons known only to him, last night decided to stay in.

Anyway, he had obviously decided that he had had quite enough sleep for one night, and my getting out of bed meant the perfect opportunity for him to be let out. He jumped off the bed (completely unseen by me) and hurtled between my feet, tripping me up. I was on the way to the floor when the corner of a chest of drawers broke my fall, and damn nearly broke my cheekbone as well. The ensuing kerfuffle (and cursing) woke Mr P, who said "what on earth are you doing?" A few answers came to mind, but I was distracted by the feeling of blood running down my cheek so decided not to bother to reply. OS was by now downstairs in the hall, shouting for the door to be opened. Digby was still asleep.

Mr P and I went down to the kitchen to attend to my injury. There was no ice in the freezer, so himself decided that a frozen chicken thigh (in it's plastic bag) should be applied.confused He seemed quite offended when I declined treatment by poultry, so a plastic bottle of lemonade from the fridge was pressed into use. Once the bleeding had stopped and the throbbing had gone down to a bearable level, we went back to bed. Digby was still asleep
