I think there was more to it than the 'daughter of a whore' remark. I guess she'd been on the end of that sort of workplace bullying for months before. As a professional medic her first duty was to assess the injury to the player which would have resulted in extra time.... the 'Special One' was desperate for the final whistle and couldnt have cared less about the player on the floor. There is a culture of male supremacy in football, which is one of the reasons so few gay players are willing to 'come out'. As for Eva, good on 'er!

That man really makes my hackles rise (and that takes some doing). He might be a good football manager but he always looks like a sulky spoilt brat and I think the doctor did right to sue him like that.
Mind, 5 million could be a drop in the ocean as far as he's concerned.

The phrase he used apparently translated as "daughter of a whore" - perhaps her mother should sue him too! However, I don't think the compensation was paid just because of what he said, there were other factors involved. Anyway why should anyone, male or female, have to put up with abuse for doing their job.

She probably did that then decided she needed to really go for it!

She got compensation for something that was spoken,a real woman would have given him his change.
Seriously, I know its not acceptable behaviour today.
I'm just saying,would anyone want to abuse me for 5million pounds.What about fifty thousand then,I'm not greedy.

Yes, I have never understood why she was abused for doing her job! Good for her, someone else might well think twice about how they approach her.

Good post Iam64 - I agree totally. She's got guts and the old adage "a woman scorned" springs to mind.

I don't think Dr Eva got compensation because she was verbally abused. It was connected to employment law, constructive dismissal. She went for the jugular and Chelsea paid up to avoid the bad publicity that would have accompanied a trial. I hope Jose is special enough to have stumped up his portion of the wages she lost as a result of his behaviour.
Having said that - I'm not sorry he's now a red!
