Bra's

difficult to get a bra my size on the high street that is comfortable...they all seem to have thin straps which are no good if your a g cup! I used to buy the doreen bra but never found them very comfy as they had a bone each side which I always had to remove..

so much effort going to the high street trying bras on when you know none are going to fit properly!

I like a well fitting bra. I don't find underwired bras at all comfortable and very lacy ones can be a bit scratchy.
I go for an M&S one which seem a bit like Doreen bras. Not super glamorous but they keep my boobs comfortable without bits of my boobs sticking out of the bra at the top. I am a 36C

Oh, bras, I hate 'em. When home alone/with DH I often just wear a tight fitting stretch cotton camisole. Otherwise I wear the stretch 'comfort' bras which are comfortable-ish but not very supportive. I've been measured in all sorts of shops and they all come up with different sizes. I was measured in Debenhams recently for a Triumph Doreen and told I need a 36C. When the assistant brought me it I could only just get it done up and realised it would cut me in half, so against her advice I bought a 38C and it still cuts me in half - so money wasted. I might try Bon Marche next or Sainsbury.

I have so many bras it's becoming a fetish I think - in fact last week I had to move all the white ones into a drawer on their own so I could shut the other drawer containing all the coloured ones I've gone through all sorts of sizes and been measured in both M&S and Debenhams who both came up with different sizes! In the end I just buy what looks nice in 34DD and if it's not right take it back. I've also bought quite a lot from Tu KateyK - I really like their underwear especially the no VPL knickers ( I have a similar fetish about those too which is a whole new thread lol ) I have to have underwired padded or the contents are drawn down by gravity to meet up with my ever expanding stomach. I've also got several of the Vercella bodies which are very comfy and supposed to be supportive whatever size you are - they're just a b****r to fasten the hooks and eyes every time you go to the loo In short I think everyone is so different it's impossible to measure us all correctly so buying online to send back is probably the best idea!

I must admit, the first time I wore it , under a cotton blouse, to go shopping, I got a few interested glances from middle-aged men.

Where can you get a non underwired bra, I looked in
asda and there was only one style apart from the pull on type which I normally wear, I have looked in various fashion shops so apart from the like of 'Doreen'Bras from mail order which to me are like a suit of armour and so old fashioned I just don't know where to look for an ordinary one, besides I need a 42 b cup and no one sells those anymore, they assume that because you want a 42 that you have big boobs. I want a lacy delicate type not a 'cross your heart and hope to die' type.

Oh the joys of Triumph Doreen....I was a flat chested 15 year old who suddenly (over night it seemed) need a 36D and they were the only ones about back then......not fun changing for P.E. when wearing those!!!! I still shudder at thought.

Then once when visiting John Lewis decided to get properly fitted and found I need a 34E! bought Triumph Doreen, which can still be obtained.

I just want one where the sliders don't slide down. When I've hoisted 'em up, I want them to stay hoisted.

Bite the bullet and go into a specialist shop. I've a small, but well stocked one just half a mile from my house, and you can try them on in situ. Don't be shy - the assistants are there to help and want you to be comfortable, upheld and to come back.

My second ever post, after lurking on the side lines reading for an age, but this Bra thing is just too important to pass by with out comment, here goes...biggish boobs, but hate scaffolding type ugly bras with loads of stitching and seams, tried every-where in the past and usually have some thing to complain about....but...hooray!, the £6.00 lacey bras from Tu (Sainsburys) in black, white, nude, cerise, grey (the grey looks like you've washed your white one badly).
So my critique of them is as follows: they look lovely, hold the boobs where they should be, are actually very comfortable and you can buy on line. Hope this helps someone!

I buy cheap non wired bras, and am always braless at home with just H.

Sometimes I feel 2 colanders and a yard of string would be more comfortable.

Bravissimo bras are too fancy and expensive! ( well its only me thats going to see it lol) I just want something plain and comfortable that holds my spaniel ears up! ?

I wear Bravissimo, once the fit is sorted then it's easy to order on line. Bearing in mind that the fit can vary even between the various Bravissimo styles because not every style suits every body shape.
I have (relatively speaking) narrow shoulders and back compared to frontage. This means a full cup so that straps sit on centre shoulder and not at the outside of the shoulder where they can slip. Also fitting starts with the widest hooks and works inward as time goes on.

I always thought that you should fasten your bra on the first hooks and work your way to the tightest as you wash and wear your bra. After all, they do loosen with wear.
I really wish that I could go braless, but I like the feeling when your boobs stick to your chest! ?

After years of being able to get to a Bravissimo I braved M&S's lady and came away with two half decent bras but upon wearing a few times realised they did not fit well. I was also left scratching my head over M&S method of checking for size (its difficult to have an argument when in underwear). M&S say always wear your bra on the middle hook and eye whilst Bravissimo say start on the tightest and work in, which makes a whole lot of sense in cold light of day. I'd love to pluck up courage to ask M&S lady what the outer and inner hook and eye are for if one has to always use the middle one!
