Is Jackson returning to "the other world" next year? He certainly enjoyed it there and he was out and about swimming in the fresh air and sunshine.

NanaandGarampy Many moons ago when I was married my OH was in America on business and I looked after 2 large dogs belonging to friends. They were mainly my friends. Embarrassingly one dog who resembled the Dulux paints dog did not want to go home so hid. Neither dog wanted my OH to come in the front door and it was a tussle to let him in. My friend burst into tears when she realised that one dog preferred to stay with me! He eventually left but had to be half carried to the car. I then knew that they had a happy time with me.

The dreaded jetlag has kicked in and I was wide awake at 2am !!!

Of course I then sleep in until 10am!!

Sorry to hear about your extended power cut yesterday Charley that sounds a thorough nuisance. Are they compensating you for all these outages because I'm sure they should be !!

Well we have unpacked 3 of our 4 cases . Saw the little boys yesterday where treats were handed over and Jackson told us how much he liked 'the other world' we had been in.

Today, we are going to our young friends wedding. They care for Sam for us whilst we are away and when the bride-to-be popped in yesterday Sam went crazy with delight at seeing her. So we KNOW he is well cared for !

We were stuck for a gift for them but when we realised they were going to Florida for their honeymoon we bought gave them a couple of nights at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort as a little luxury end to their honeymoon. Sam has bought them afternoon tea also as a thank you, at the resort. So I hope they enjoy their special time in Jackson's 'Other World'.

I shall have my camera out this afternoon so will post a picture of the bride tomorrow.

Good luck Anno I am sure that you will be fine. I am amazed that you were able to speed because around here there are so many cars on the road that it is stop/start most of the time. The pleasure has gone out of getting in my car these days, I have to allow 30 minutes to travel 2 miles.

Today's the day for my 'safe driving' course. Second time round. Will I never learn to control my heavy right foot? Funny thing - when I mention that I've been done for speeding, many of my friends - not to mention family - also fess up. It's another sultry morning here. There was more rain overnight but not as heavy as the other night when it thundered.

Galen ready at 7am tomorrow? I did not think that you surfaced much before mid day. It will be an early night for both of you and not in an alcoholic blur! I hope that the food and entertainment are good.

Morning all. Just moving to our mooring off Mykonos. We will spend the day lazing on board as I can't do tenders.
Tomorrow we have to be ready at 7am (5am BST) to leave the boat for a cruise down the Corinth canal. Looking forward to the cruise if not the hour!
Now behave yourselves you lot while we're not there to keep an eye on you!?

GandTea it is not your fault if you were born with two left feet but who knows, you may have picked up a bit of the dancing gene all of those years ago. Keep at it, it is good for you if not too good for Mrs. G's feet!

Dance lesson tonight and it all went "buns" up, couldn't do a thing right, think I left my dancing feet at home. Had a stressful conversation with our daughter just before we went, blaming that. Now I need a GnT, but I;m back on the diet.

Sadly ours came and went whilst we were away. They are my favourite flowers, so I'm a bit sad about that.

Alea you must not feel guilty- you need rest and relaxation by the bucket load.

I have seen many gorgeous photos of Grace but that is the first time I have seen that beautiful girl awake.

I wrote quite a spiel earlier but then had a power cut before I could send it so I am back again.

I have had no power from 10.15am until 18.30 this evening- I was not amused. We have had many power cuts recently but that is the longest. Luckily it is June and not January or I would have had to retire to bed for the day. The men are now digging up the pavement in the street next to mine and that is at least their 3rd stop around here. I do not think that maintenance is carried out, I feel that they wait until there is a problem and then they attempt to fix it- fire fighting.

My landline battery was so low that my phones would not work, my chair lift also would not work and the freezer was contemplating meltdown. The power returned just in time. Not the best day of my life but Tara is home now so we can have an early stress free night.

Alea sorry your husband had his op cancelled. You build yourself up for these things and it is such a stressful time. Please rest as much as you can.

Nothing of note in the garden but these were cute at the wildlife park we visited today. The deer did its best to join us in the car. . Tapped the door (fairly gently) when the food ran out. A very assertive deer . I know I've been quiet for a bit. Much better now so will be dropping in again if I may. Hope you sleep well alea, a rest can only be good.

Bamburgh Castle, soop. The whole castle turned red that morning. There are deer in the dunes as well but I haven't seen them [I usually get up too late; the S.O. has seen them on early morning dog walking duty ].Someone who was fishing said he'd seen an otter a while back and there were dolphins in Seahouses Harbour. I never seem to see any of that!There are hares in the field at the back, although I haven't seen them for a while. And Dorset sheep that I thought were ugly at first but now I've read up on them I'm very taken with them. Alas, we're going up there in a couple of weeks but, after that it will be going out for summer rental and I'll be stuck down 'ere.

Care home visit in the morning but I shall most surely be back with you lovely lot early afternoon.

Alea You are kind to update us with news of your husband. There can be nothing worse than waiting and wondering. As for you asking us lot whether you are "awful" to be resting at home right now...the answer is a big, loud NO. If I lived close to you I would happily drive you to visit your husband. If I left home this minute, I may arrive on your doorstep in time to welcome your husband home.

Grace looks well. Animals aren't over fond of humidity. I hope that the storms have passed. We haven't had one - yet.
Your garden is stunning. The peony is a great favourite of mine. My late Nana grew them. The perfume was heady. The poppies are superb. We have a number growing in the verges at Muasdale.

Glad to hear that he's moved into another ward - hope it's a good sign.

Aha; those are the poppies we saw when we went to Ashby the other day; the castle was English Heritage so we gave it a miss [had thought it was NT] and walked back through a churchyard full of huge poppies. Those were they.

DH update.
I am feeling reasonably rested after a quiet night but a bit more on edge as the day has gone on, awaiting results of tests on blood gases (part of yesterday's problem) Unfortunately waiting for news has meant I have left it too late to drive over to visit DH it is at least 1 1/2 hours plus the shuttle bus (I say unfortunately, but I am knackered, so while feeling guilty, also feel relieved - is that awful?)
I believe the arterial line has been removed but he is still on a bit of oxygen
He is being moved from the Coronary Care Unit (hadn't appreciated that was where he was ?) to the Cardiology ward later this afternoon/evening and depending on whether or not they want to do further tests, may be home tomorrow.
You are all posting beautiful pictures, Inwill have to see how my peonies and Himalayan poppies are looking, unless I can interest anyone in another pic of Grace (panting, not sleeping)
