loopylou Heck! that was some trip-over. Take care when you walk the coast path in Anglesey. We want you back all in one piece.

Charleygirl when we were living in Cornwall, we were in the garden and heard what we thought was a motor mower. The swarm of bees that created the din as it flew overhead, was huge. I hit the deck. Covered my head, just in case.

Bellasnana and Galen you seem to be having a very relaxing time. Two weeks is a superb rest I think- enjoy yourselves.

NanaandGrampy I can see the shiner on the little chap going down a treat at the wedding- any other week!

We would have a rare old time, we would probably never stop chatting. You would not notice if Grampy was there or not because he possibly would have vanished for a rest.

This is day 2 of sunshine here and naturally this afternoon I am back at the GP surgery later this pm doing surveys- I must be crazy.

soop If I saw a swarm of bees I would move swiftly in the opposite direction- I know that they probably would not be interested in me but I would not take that chance.

lovely day here. Took the dogs down to the loch at lunch time so they could have a paddle. Unlike the German Shepherds I used to have my Belgian Shepherds don't like swimming, but do like a paddle.

soop don't worry about me and ladders, I hate them and only use a step ladder for the windows and that is very rarely!

I was a consultant's guinea pig nearly four years ago when I spectacularly pulled my foot off my leg (and managed eight fractures, all by tripping off a kerb). Before it was reduced I had hoards of medical students ogling at the mess, some of which turned a bit green, and asking if it hurt? It didn't hurt unti it was reduced that bit's better glossed over despite hefty doses of painkillers ?????

Perhaps that made me a 'doozie'? ?

We're off to Anglesey on Friday, just as the weather changes. Hopefully we'll do plenty of the coast path in the week we're there.

So far we've only tested two pasties, soop. The supermarket own brand beat the more expensive but too peppery some other brand.

When we set off in the car this morning, the temperature read 30C. We walked through the village. Keeping an eye open for the swarm of bees. A notice in the shop window gives a couple of phone numbers to call if anyone happens across them.

Andy didn't disgrace himself. Novak and he were born within days of each other. They both went to same tennis academy and played their first proper match as thirteen year olds. Novak is undeniably the best player. I admire Andy's will to win. Unfortunately he will be tested time and time again whenever the two of them compete.

Charleyg I kicked my top cover off last night. The sunset was most unusual. The sky had a rosy/hazy glow and the islands were barely visible. I shall add a photo.
Speaking of being a guinea pig...I was seen by a consultant a few years ago who specialised in "ladies matters"...he diagnosed a vaginal prolapse. He then said...please may I show the students who are learning about such matters. I nodded. Kept my eyes firmly shut and wished that I could be any place other than on the couch.

NanaandGrampy Is Grampy's gout continuing to trouble him? If so, he won't feel very talkative for some time.
I've not heard the word "doozie" before. I like it. Our youngest grandson fell from a height in a children's play area on one occasion. He was pretending to be a commando. He knocked his milk tooth out. That was a doozie. I must share the word with him.

Charley I shall look forward to your company next year !! Grampy is not much for conversation and I have taken to chatting to the waiters and bell hops like some deranged old dear at the bus stop !!

I face timed Jackson today. He is to be a page boy with his brother on Friday and we will be back for the wedding. The young couple are Sam's friends and we have booked them into this hotel for a few days on their honeymoon as a thank you.

The bride to be is lovely but is in full on 'bridezilla' mode.

I wonder how she will feel when she sees one of pageboys has a black eye? And it's a doozie !!

Apparently done when jumping on a bean bag and kneeing himself in the eye !!

For once I feel pleasantly warm and I do not think that I will need to take a hot water bottle to my freshly made up bed. My four legged bed mate will not be happy as she loves it.

the weather was so pleasant that I was able to wash heaps of items.

Tomorrow I am a guinea pig at my GP surgery for medical students- they are there to learn about osteoarthritis- something I have in abundance. This is the 3rd time I have helped out my GP and I have one more session in a couple of weeks time. She has been so decent to me, I like to help out when I can.

bags we had to give up archery when we moved here, no club here now - took up shooting instead.

charleygirl so glad we have few neighbours, they can bring more trouble than they are worth. Though ours are nice at the moment.

I gave up on Andy, and retreated to the garden where I have been tackling what should be a beech hedge but has got out of control. It needs someone (OH?) to get up the step ladder but not me, to cut the tops back.

Weather has been lovely today, lots of sunshine but not too hot.

I seem to have missed a lot in the wider world of GN over the weekend. Good to know you have support from friends and Kitchener's and a well deserved compliment from GNHQ.

Been clearing and de-cluttering and then went to a Spring Fair this afternoon. The Portuguese version doesn't do as good a selection of home made cake as the British ones, still, very enjoyable walking about in the sunshine. soop your temperature of 28°C equals the one here today!

Alea I used to have a simple stone necklace similar to yours. Just one colour stone that the man selling it said was a gutter. It took me ages to realise he meant agate

Just finished another perfect afternoon of archery in our back garden. The club left us a bottle of Bombay Sapphire and 4x4 bottle of Fever Tree tonic. Gotta be good! MrB has to restrain himself until after Minibags calls for a lift back from the station. She has been gallivanting to Edinburgh today.

I feel very flattered by alea's support on That Other thread after someone took exception to my posts, and lona expressed it perfectly: I "do a good shrug and have lots of excellent friends" on GN. HQ were really quite sweet when I asked them to explain why my posts had been deleted and then encouraged me to carry on posting because it was "lively and informative" for all posters. Shrugtastic

Charleyg You are certainly well bothered by inconsiderate folk. I sympathise with you. It isn't fair that you have rude, aggressive neighbours.
As for that match. What can I say...I'm exhausted yet again. Andy played as well as he could and there were moments when I thought, yay, he's fighting back. Novak deserved to win. He's remarkable. I am, however, feeling sad for our man. I wanted to cry. Switched off. Poured a G&T and, hey ho (as bags would say) we're going to sit in the sunshine.

TriciaF The yellow flower is broom. I'm very fond of it. We have some in our garden. The bees love it.

We met a pal in the village this morning. She was out looking for her bees. She'd seen them swam and wanted to take them home again. She told us that they wouldn't sting as they were fat with honey. She has, in the past, collected them from odd places and taken them home in a box.

I'm away to enjoy the sunshine.

oldgoat - the yellow flower could be broom. A bit like gorse but not prickly.

soop It is one of my kind neighbours who is going to remove the dumped car. Neither the police nor the council are interested because it is on private ground. There was another car dumped beside it for over a week. One of the local brats "keyed" the bonnet and the car was removed after the week. I doubt if he will leave his car here and go on holiday again which is what I suspect happened.

Parking is a problem here because the same neighbour C was dragged by another neighbour out of his car yesterday and physically assaulted because he refused to move another of his cars which is not bothering or obstructing anybody. The abuser removed the keys so C cannot move the car and has had to get his door locks and office lock changed. I think with help from the police, he is going to take the abuser to court if only to retrieve some money. C also thinks that the fellow who abused him may do it again. Luckily C did not retaliate as he felt he wanted to. What is the world coming to?

I could no longer watch Andy in round 3 losing. I will pick up again later. I have beaten you soop I had 2 icecreams both of which I needed like a hole in the head.

NanaandGrampywhat a super end to your lovely holiday-next year I will be with you to look after your baggage. I am also very good at babysitting.

I cannot believe that we have had sunshine and warmth for hours- it is not warm enough indoors to take off my cardigan but today is a start.

soop Is that granny bonnet growing in your garden? We have just been caravanning in Northumberland and saw this one growing wild in the middle of a nature reserve. I knew we should have gone to Kintyre. It was freezing cold most of the week near the Cheviots.

Alea We like Olney. We were married at nearby Thrapston. My late father lived in Sudborough - a picturesque village not too far distant.

A wee run back into the kitchen. First set went to Andy. Second set is a little iffy at the mo'. I've had to eat a double choc Magnum. Would enjoy another. Greedy Gannet!

NanaandGrampy I agree that the Cinderella wedding would appeal to children. All I can say is...thank heaven's I didn't need to go down that route. All of a matter of individual taste.
The pastries, on the other hand, are very much to my liking.

Bellanonna I'm sorry to hear that you are continuing to endure knee pain. Your husband appears to be making a slow but sure recovery. Try to rest as much as possible.

Charleyg Has that abandoned car been removed? Aren't some folk thoughtless?

On the subject of thoughtlessness...a short distance along the road from us, is a layby. The bin is overflowing with rubbish. And yet folk continue to add to it and leave carrier bags stuffed with sandwich wrappings and the likes on the ground. What on earth is wrong with taking it home and disposing of it in their own bins? We have a black sack in our boot. Also a grabber-thingy. We try to tidy up whenever possible.

Alea - the necklace is the type I like too. I have one similar but in shades of rusty amber , bought it on ebay, made by someone who collects old beads as a hobby and restrings them.
I've been looking at that thread, TG we're not so involved as we can't vote, we've been out of the country too long. So I can't get worked up about it. It does seem to bring out the hostility in some people though.

The necklace came from an ordinary little shop in Olney about 15 years ago and Indon't think it cost me more than £10! It snapped last year and I was devastated so I took to a woman I know who makes rather upmarket glass jewellery (Beads to Bedazzle) as one of her necklaces had also snapped and she restrung them both for me. It cost considerably more than the price in the case of the wee multicoloured one!

Morning all!!

Sad to hear about the 'mean girls' ! I have to wonder what they're like in real life .

We're into our last couple of days here and decided to order room service breakfast , just continental ( so I didn't have to shake my own muesli !) .

The lady arrived and instead of just leaving the tray, produced a white tablecloth and laid it all out . So I've included some pictures. Please help yourself to pastries and coffee..... Oh yes and Mickey Mouse shaped butter!! ( I am so easily pleased !! )

Lovely to hear about breakfast Galen I envisage you both strolling the sun deck with parasols al la Edwardian ladies lol I am sure you're both probably doing something far more fun!

28C here today. Absolutely bloody gorgeous. Sorry for those of you who are impatiently waiting for a change in weather.

What has been going on? Has someone been unkind to our bags. What is the world coming to. We're all as important (in different ways) as each other. To be honest, I have no idea what goes on outside of our kitchen. I remain with people I like and where there has never been even a hint of bullying. Get tucked into those pasties, bags Us lot will wait for the results of the tasting.

Alea the necklace really is pretty. I would like something similar.

Galen and Bellasnana are living the high life. And then there's Nelliemoser shaking her own muesli into a bowl that she had to get from the cupboard and will need to wash a little later. Life can be so unfair.
