This subject has come up again on another thread.

What is wrong with little Englander? Or big Englander. Or little Welsher. Or big Welsher? Or little Scotlander? Or big scotlander. Or little Northern Irelander? Or big Northere Irelander? Or little Rep of Irelander? Or big Republic of Irelander?

Or little any other nation on earth? Or big any other nation on earth?

What has the bible to do with this? I recently got ticked off for not sticking to the thread Alea

Alea Mon 09-May-16 18:20:15

Bible bashing next wink

rosesarered Mon 09-May-16 17:46:10

Mind you, we can take it ( we are well used to it on here.)

rosesarered Mon 09-May-16 17:44:16

Who the hell revived this thread? It's just an excuse for English bashing.

obieone Mon 09-May-16 17:42:16

Yes its me. Been here 3 or 4 months.

Ana Mon 09-May-16 17:37:42

I'm beginning to agree with you, Alea - there is something rather familiar....

obieone Mon 09-May-16 17:33:49

I dont care if people cant be bothered!

Alea Mon 09-May-16 17:25:14

Well, many of your Zen- like Cryptic comments under a different name in the past made little sense, but if you can't be bothered why should anybody else?

Alea Mon 09-May-16 17:22:57

Is there a problem with just saying what you mean??

obieone Mon 09-May-16 17:22:03

Actually, another time, I am not going to say.
People can guess.
I partly write on this forum for fun. If I am misunderstood, I can correct people only if I can be bothered.
I dont that much care if people misunderstand me.

Regional differences = geographical differences. Well they would if you are talking about geographical regions.
Clear as mud.
Coastal areas, mountainous areas, fenland, Lake District.
What was your point again and how did it relate to -anything what anniebach or Elegran was saying?

obieone Mon 09-May-16 17:17:57

geographical differences

Anniebach Mon 09-May-16 17:05:50

Sorry, yes to you Jalima,, there could be no one worse , horrible man,

Alea Mon 09-May-16 16:57:47

Obieone
You commented "there may be regional differences to what is meant"
I asked you to expand on that and you kindly enlightened me
"Regional differences- differences between regions"
Really? hmm
Adding
I didnt know what else to say. I tried googling it but it was no help. So not sure what to put or what to say
Are you seriously telling me that Google was expected to know what you meant as you didn't?
OK, I'll try again
What regions?
What differences?
(suggestions) geographical differences, linguistic differences, socio-economic differences
Your Zen- like cryptic utterances otherwise make no sense at all, I am put in mind of a well-known quotation about football which went along the lines of "- Der Ball ist rund und das Spiel dauert 90 Minuten. (The ball is round and the game lasts 90 minutes.)
[Possibly the best-known of all German football sayings, these words of wisdom were uttered by Sepp Herberger, coach of the German national side that won the 1954 World Cup.]
confused

Jalima Mon 09-May-16 15:35:07

Good grief no , not in my opinion
Was that in answer to me anniebach?

If so, do you think he is worse?
or, heaven forbid, better?

thatbags Mon 09-May-16 15:28:20

You will remain British while ever Scotland remains in the British Isles, granny2. If Scotland were to float off into a distant part of the Atlantic, I guess it would no longer be part of Britain, but I think that for all of human history in these parts it has been British and so it will remain for a long time because tectonic plates move slowly.

Whether it remains part of the UK is another matter but I hope it does that too.

One is a geographic description, the other is political.

Anniebach Mon 09-May-16 15:23:26

Good grief no , not in my opinion

Granny2 Mon 09-May-16 15:18:42

I too am a scot and proud but I am also British and would like it to remain that way.

Jalima Mon 09-May-16 14:44:51

Now, if Donald J was English and not half Scottish, would he be the definitive Little Englander?

Jalima Mon 09-May-16 14:44:00

Oh Donald J. Trump, who else?

aka DON Trump apparently, according to something I saw earlier on FB.

Ceesnan Mon 09-May-16 14:20:10

GNHQ please can we have an emoji for nit picking? grin

Anniebach Mon 09-May-16 13:33:02

Sorry Elegran, I do not have to accept your definition , I do accept it is how you choose to define it

obieone Mon 09-May-16 13:31:29

I didnt know what else to say. I tried googling it but it was no help. So not sure what to put or what to say.

Alea Mon 09-May-16 13:25:36

Please don't insult my intelligence obieone I asked you to elaborate on what you meant, not how many beans make five.

Elegran Mon 09-May-16 13:18:17

I don't hold them either, ab, but I do recognise one when I meet it. Looks like you'll just have to accept my definition.
