Men v. women

Men do seem able to store a lot of useless facts which women wouldn't bother with. I often think, when DH comes out with some random piece of information, "why would anyone know that in the first place?" confused

They base that claim on insufficient evidence. It would have been more logical for them to reach the conclusion that more men than women wanted to appear on the show, presumably because more men wanted to show off on TV?

Just read a comment, following an article on how few women are in University Challenge, in a national newspaper, claiming that men are better at general knowledge than women. Any thoughts?
