I have a very handsome son too, grandmac. I'm told this regularly, in a very surprised "your son is very good-looking, where did he get that from?" way. grin

My mum was likened to Bette Davis in both their younger years.

lots of people used to say I looked like kacey ainsworth from eastenders. The one that hit her husband round the head with an iron! I think I've got the name right.

Greta, not Great (though I'm sure she was). grin

Poirot's Miss Lemon or "that Swedish woman - the dead one", which turned out to be Great Garbo. Deidre Barlow when we had the same big glasses!

When my dear brother went on a hitching trip around Europe, he sent me a postcard of Botticelli's Birth of Venus. He said she reminded him of me. ........I think he must have been away for quite some time!!!!!!!! Or he needed glasses.

My son is a George Clooney look alike. Don't know where he got the looks from as although my husband was a good looking man he didn't look like George.

I was often mistaken for Julie Walters when Educating Rita came out. This was Julie with the long brown permed hair not the blonde at the beginning of the film!

When I was young and slim with my hair up, I was told I looked like Audrey Hepburn. She looked glamorous as she got older, but sadly didn't live as long as me.

A loooong time ago, when I first came to live in London. I was often told I looked like Julie Christie - lol no longer.

When I was 15 MANY years ago I was mistaken for Christine Keeler! Even asked for an autograph

I know internally there was a Kim Basinger trying to get out, unfortunately I am more of a Dawn French!

I look like Hagrid ( minus the beard ) Film star looks - be careful what you wish for !!

Gagagran Sun 17-Apr-16 13:24:36

I was told I looked like Anna Ford, the former BBC newsreader, when I was in my prime (!) More like Ena Sharples these days I suspect.

A cross between Sue Kreutzman and Judy Dench (on a good day)! A Navy friend once said I looked like Debbie Harry (many years ago)........ A bit of a stretch!!!!

A man came up to me in a Ryanair checkin queue and said has anyone ever told you that you look like Helen Mirren but I think it was a chat up line as I was travelling alone!

My hairdresser swears I am the double of Brenda Blethyn DH agrees especially when I am wearing my rainhat very Vera!

My dad thought I looked like Ann Diamond when she was launched on Breakfast tv back in the '80s, I could never see it myself, probably because I've never worn my hair short, mine was shoulder length then and jaw length now. My husband tells me he can see what my dad meant, I think we both have fairly small faces and I suppose our features are a bit alike {ish}. It wouldn't have occurred to me that she's my looky/likey her but I find myself studying her when she appears on Matthew Wright from time to time.

Back in the days of Crossroads, people used to tell me I looked like Miss Diane (Susan Hanson)

Many years ago I was asked if I was related to Anne Robinson(!) That was in my red haired incarnation.
And when Mary McAleese was standing for election in Ireland, my DDs commented that there were posters with my picture on them on the lamp posts in Dublin.

grumppa
Thus far I haven't noticed Sean Connery declining at all wink

rubysong Sun 17-Apr-16 11:55:38

Many years ago people who worked for DH used to refer to me as Delia (Smith). I don't think I looked like her, maybe the hairstyle at that time was similar, and I certainly didn't cook like her.

grumppa Sun 17-Apr-16 11:51:46

Sean Connery in his declining years!

Daddima Sun 17-Apr-16 11:46:42

My son's friend told me I looked like Wendy James ( I had to Google her!) I could see absolutely no resemblance.
Main reason was that he actually meant Wendy Richards, (Pauline Fowler off of Eastenders)
