Poor you Marelli, hope things go well with your SIL.
Our phones stopped working a while a go so we had to buy new ones; two cordless ones, one for landing and one in hall. By coincidence it had installed on it BT call guard which is absolutely brilliant.
We were being plagued by cold calls especially about 6pm.
They have completely stopped now. When someone rings us for the first time they have to announce who they are and we choose to accept the call. Afterwards we can then mark them as accepted and from then on they just get through as normal.

My 88-year-old sister-in-law underwent yet another large operation yesterday, and it's obviously very possible that she may not make it, these next 24 hours being crucial.
The phone rang at 7.20 this morning, and I flew out of bed to answer it, just knowing that the worst had happened.
There was no-one there...1471 telling me that it came from a network that was unable to transmit numbers. AGAIN. I've never received one as early as this before.
. Is there any way of blocking these particular calls, though?
