George (This was the name used for the lavatory as in "I'm going to see George") The actual WC was thus referred to as George. Weird or what?

When I was little, we had a front room, where there was a three piece suite and a radiogram. We used to wear bumpers on our feet for playing out. All the roadside footpaths were called pavements, whether or not they were actually paved.
We had breakfast, school dinner and dinner (mum never really trusted that the school dinners were good enough ). At weekends we had breakfast, dinner and tea, the dinner being our main meal, and the tea was high tea - bread and butter, cakes, and a pot of tea.

The snow white film was lovely. I almost cried. All the lovely birds and animals.

We have dinner, on a tray on our lap, sitting on one of the two sofas in our lounge. And because of this slobby behaviour, we use white damask napkins to protect our clothes!

We have a perfectly good dining room but as it's been requisitioned (by me ) as a sewing room, we can't eat our breakfast, lunch or dinner in there.

When the call of nature arises, I rush upstairs to our one and only loo.
