<whisper>
I think it things are starting to get going. DD3 is acting as telephone relay as she both lives close to DD2 and SIL and is close to her.
However, "chickens, hatched, before, and counting, not" and all that.

Evening all!

Babysitting for two very tired young men tonight whilst Mummy and Daddy go out ! I'm

Soop whilst MacS is undoubtedly a handsome chap I absolutely love the water colour of the style, it makes me want to open the gate and walk through. It's lovely and you are a very talented lady !

Bellasnana , what a cutie !! She looks very at home . Enjoy your time together!

Tomorrow , we have a trip planned to buy young Jackson a new car, and he has begged Grampy to take him into a shop called Dunkin Donuts ( oh that spelling!!! ) where they have many types of doughnuts . He has decided to buy us each one as a present . I sense an ulterior motive on both his and Grampys part!

Alea exciting news !! How will you sleep?? smile x

Alea Fri 13-May-16 07:00:27

How did I sleep? Fitfully is the word!!
Baby still not there and they are still at home , coping. DD managed little bits of sleep but thinking back to DD1 she took nearly 24 hours even with nos. 2 and 3 from starting contractions before things got serious.
We had a lovely birthday tea (until 8!) with the DGC in Birmingham and I was glad to have the drive home to take my mind off it.
So watching this space.
What a sweet face Bella has, it just lifts your spirits to look at her!
Wishing you all sunshine I am going to try to go back to sleep!

loopylou Fri 13-May-16 07:31:01

Look what I've got! Dgs2 arrived safely after a rather worrying few days. Knackered Nonna is utterly delighted ?

Alea Fri 13-May-16 07:46:37

Oh loopy how lovely! Glad all is well, congratulations to everybody especially Nonna X flowers
<goes back to fingernails>

Lona Fri 13-May-16 07:48:06

Oh how gorgeous loopy, congratulations! flowerssunshine
He looks so peaceful, but that won't last! grin

Lona Fri 13-May-16 07:51:35

Alea ????????????
Come on............ smile

Alea Fri 13-May-16 08:32:57

I'm doing my breathing and trying not to push yet grin
I think I must resign myself to the fact that it might not even be today........

Lona Fri 13-May-16 08:37:34

Well, as Bellasnana has just reminded me, it IS Friday 13th!! grin

annsixty Fri 13-May-16 08:46:57

My DiL's waters broke on a Thurs teatime nearly 18 years ago and we went into high excitement mode as this was our first GC. She was admitted during the evening as she was11 days overdue. Baby was delivered by c-section about 2pm on Saturday. I really hope you don't have that wait.

loopylou Fri 13-May-16 11:37:00

It's so nerve wracking, isn't it? Very best of luck to all 'expectant' grandmothers!
?☕️?? and anything else that might help ?x

Charleygirl Fri 13-May-16 12:03:40

loopylou he is gorgeous but I believe that he will not stay quiet all of the time!

Alea with luck within the next few hours there maybe some movement on the home front.

Galen Fri 13-May-16 12:50:23

My bet is 3am.

annodomini Fri 13-May-16 13:04:04

Congratulations, loopy. I'd almost forgotten how small babies are. He looks so sweet. wine to wet his head.

Alea Fri 13-May-16 13:06:47

galen you could so be right. Is it a primeval thing that babies are born at night - safer from predators, or just plain cussedness? Or is it to do with body temperature and its response as so many crises seem to happen at night too?

Alea Fri 13-May-16 13:08:50

However reading what annsixty has written that also very much chimes with the present situation! I must stop trawling the baby sites- white company, zulily, etc etc.

Charleygirl Fri 13-May-16 13:17:53

I appeared at 2.15am but I do not know what day of the week it was.

Galen I doubt if there will be many takers as you are no doubt correct.

soop Fri 13-May-16 15:26:22

Good afternoon to all our lovely, special Granspal Kitcheners

By gum! I caught sight of a gorgeous wee baby and thought...Well, Alea will know what I was thinking. As Kitty uttered...flippin' heck! wink

Loopylou Your new born grandson is a poppet. I love the relaxed way in which he poses for his first photo call. I've gone all gooey! Welcome to the world, little treasure. sunshine and for you, his Nana, smile flowers

Bellasnana Your darling granddaughter is a treasure. She always has a lovely smile on her face. x

NanaandGrampa I've heard of Dunkin wotsits. Is it a large toy emporium? Is it possible that you can also purchase freshly made doughnuts? If so, I'll have a very large jammy one for my afternoon tea...hmm

Bellanonna Fri 13-May-16 16:45:12

soop your watercolours are lovely. I wonder what is on the other side of the stile? I loved the wild garlic pic, too, and could just smell it from here.
loopy the new arrival looks so sweet. He looks a good weight too.
Little Bella has a gorgeous smile, bella. A beautiful photo.
And Alea. Sounds as though it's all about to kick off. Champagne tomorrow for sure?

numberplease Fri 13-May-16 16:48:55

Congratulations Loopylou, lovely photo.
Alea, I presume your breath is still bated? Out of my 5, only one was actually in the middle of the night. 2 were at lunchtime, one first thing in the morning, and one at just after 10pm.
Only dawned on me a short while ago that today is Friday 13th, maybe I ought to stay put for safety`s sake!

Bellasnana Fri 13-May-16 17:18:08

Just checking in to see if there is any news from Alea . It must be very stressful waiting for news.

When DGD was born, I was with DD2 all through the labour and delivery so at least I wasn't at home imagining things.

Congratulations Loopylou. Your newest DGS is so lovely. Nothing like a new baby in the family to warm your heart flowers

Thanks for the nice comments on Bella. She is a very sweet child but, of course, I am somewhat biased wink

Alea Fri 13-May-16 18:15:46

Baby update 2(or 3, or 4?)
Inevitably things must have slowed down a bit today so SIL and DD were very pleased they didn't dash over to the hospital first thing. At least DD has managed to catch up on some rest with naps during the day. They are hoping things will hot up again this evening and plan to go over to the hospital (UCLH) when they do.
I am so glad it has started without being induced, but she is 11 days overdue so really hope they don't have to wait much longer.

soop Fri 13-May-16 18:33:20

Oh heck! I just had to pop back to see whether or not that baby is on the way. Yep! I reckon so. My first born was eleven days "late". Funny thing is...he has a thing about arriving everywhere well before time. grin

Isn't it grand to have new babies to coo over. Loopylou Us lot will want plenty of pics. We're a nosy lot. In the nicest possible way - naturally.

I have to dash but I shall be here again tomorrow morning.

A very good evening to one and all. Sleep well (especially Loopylou's latest addition to the clan) flowers

May need a new extension over the weekend. grin

dustyangel Fri 13-May-16 20:12:52

I've been delayed in returning to the kitchen, firstly I've been feeling lousy having pulled the muscles in my back only half an hour before the taxi arrived to take me to the Gatwick train. Then discovered that we had no wifi due to the heavy rains wiping out one of our fuse boxes. I've had an emergency physio appointment and the fuse box had an emergency electrician called out so we are both feeling better. grin

What a gorgeous photo loopylou, such a lovely new baby. smile Congratuations to the whole family flowers
soop you live in such a beautiful area and I love your style painting. It makes me want to explore what is on the other side.

Bella your grand daughter is beautiful. My first thought was that she looks like you, then I realised that not having met you I couldn't possibly know that. hmm grin
As soop says we do all feel as if we really know each other, does anyone else visualise posters from their names?

kittylester Fri 13-May-16 20:35:43

I agree dusty, I think Bella looks like our Bella. confused

Well, I don't know about anyone else but I'm going to start celebrating that baby wine
