Before we moved to the south coast in 2012, I spent a lot of anxious hours in MK hospital with DH. We lived in South Beds near Leighton Buzzard and himself had several accidents on his bike which caused some bad injuries and hospital stays. He also had a perforated appendix which led to gangrene and the Drs at MK were wonderful and saved his life. So I have a high regard and appreciation for MK hospital.

Post code lottery again. So un fair.

soop Fri 29-Apr-16 17:25:49

I promised you that I'd be back to catch up with all your news.
Sorry, I've had a nasty fall on the terrace. Paint all over the place. I tripped up a step, grazed shins and then twisted over and have hurt my shoulder and the very bottom of my spine. MacS is helping to clear up. I'm a bit shaky. Need to change out of clothes and sit down.
Back tomorrow, I promise. moon

NanaandGrampy Fri 29-Apr-16 17:32:55

Oh no soop that's terrible !! Don't worry about us lot at all. I'm glad MacS is there to look after you . Have a cuppa , it must have given you such a shock , and a sit down.

I do hope you feel better later and that your injuries are minor xx

jollyg Fri 29-Apr-16 17:39:11

Soop You must take more care. Rest and be in the care your beloved.

Bed is the best place to be with some TLC, tea and toast, and a hottie.

Will Rorie and bracken come to visit in the bedroom, or is that a forbidden area.

Have a restful sleep and please remember the family wants to see you on sparkling form for the visits

dustyangel Fri 29-Apr-16 17:58:17

Oh soop what a shame! I'm glad you've got MacS there to look after you.
Just rest and recover and don't worry about us lot at all. I bet you will have some fine bruises tomorrow and hope that they are the worst of your injuries. A hottie sounds good. sunshine

cornergran Fri 29-Apr-16 18:22:59

Such a shame. soop, that sounds both scary and painful. I find arnica helps with bruising if you have some handy. Hope you can rest in the warm and recover. Maybe a good sleep will do the trick but if not is there an out of hours doctor you could call? Take care.

Charleygirl Fri 29-Apr-16 18:31:00

Oh soop I am so sorry to hear that. I do hope that you have not dislodged your THR. A trip, no matter how minor can shake you up. As others have said you need to rest. A very early night tonight and rest again tomorrow. Luckily MacS was around.

annodomini Fri 29-Apr-16 18:49:02

Oh soop, have you immersed yourself in a hot bath? The most comforting solution in my experience. As well as the pain, the shock of falling seems to be worse at our age. Children can bounce back far more quickly than their grandparents. Take it very easy now. We're all concerned about you. flowers

wot Fri 29-Apr-16 19:15:17

Lots and lots of love to you Soop. Get Well Soon flowerscupcakebrewsunshine

Bellanonna Fri 29-Apr-16 19:26:07

Oh no, poor you. What a shock that must have been. Please take it easy and look after yourself until you're sure you are much better. Lots of love and get better soon!

Tizliz Fri 29-Apr-16 19:34:21

A rainbow of bruises tomorrow, but if you will run around like an 18 year old ?

Crafting Fri 29-Apr-16 21:09:43

* soop* my goodness that must have shaken you up and MacSporran too. Hope you are taking it easy. I think a wee dram might be in order to calm the nerves. flowers. Hope you are not too bruised.

Charleygirl Fri 29-Apr-16 21:45:34

Tizliz please, please, I do not want soop running around like an 18 year old- that is what caused today's trip I am sure. I want her resting but will she listen, I doubt it but soop I will send you flowers anyway. Lots of love from me and Tara.

It is an expensive paint job as this is the second lot of paint gone AWOL.

Lona Sat 30-Apr-16 08:41:53

soop I am very cross with you!
flowerscupcakemoon

I shall say no more.

NanaandGrampy Sat 30-Apr-16 09:02:00

Morning all !

soop I hope you're not feeling the effects of yesterdays trip and fall too badly! I think painting must take a back seat as you recover for Torben's visit. You don't want to be less than 100% .

Just a brief visit today for me. I was Mum's taxi last night for my daughters friends hen party . A lovely time was had by all but I didn't get to bed until gone 0230 so am felling a little fuzzy round the edges !!

I'd like to say I will take an afternoon nap but today is DGS4s 2nd birthday party. My brother and sisters will be here within a couple of hours with their families so it will be a lovely , if exhausting day. I shall post a photo of the birthday boy tomorrow.

None of my SiLs family will be attending. Sadly, they choose to be very uninvolved with the little lads even though the older boy is the first grandchild - his Nanny has never had him or his brother for a sleepover or even babysat them , not for want of asking in the beginning. Her loss I feel.

anyway, I need to get myself going - so I hope you are all well ( as can be ) and that your day is filled with happy things x

Charleygirl Sat 30-Apr-16 09:23:48

I have come back here to hide- so many people have been so kind to me after *Granjura's nasty comments to me over the thread "unsafe to drive" that the tears are streaming down my face. I have not cried for over 30 years. What have I done to upset her? Double standards spring to mind.

On a lighter topic, my birth certificate arrived very early, I was in a deep sleep. I knew this would happen but I did not want to get up at the crack of dawn for the 4th consecutive day in case it did not arrive. The postman kindly signed it and pushed it through my letter box because I use a stair lift and would take ages to get downstairs.

Dare I get in my car later and explore about 3 local shops which have recently opened? Aldi and B&M being two of them.

NanaandGrampy you will love today but the thought of a good night's sleep will be in your thoughts. Enjoy today, it sounds as though it will be delightful if not busy.

wot Sat 30-Apr-16 10:21:49

Charleygirl, please don't stop the driving you do.I can only dare to go to a few places within 6 miles of home, but don't let the fear stop you driving completely.
It will be exciting to look round new shops!
Don't let what might have been a misunderstanding to restrict your horizons. I daren't even drive to Norwich but I know it's mind over matter.x

Alea Sat 30-Apr-16 10:28:39

I have forborne(sp?) to comment on the driving thread, but I trust you charleygirl in the exercise of your own judgement - how can anybody who has never met you cast aspersions or draw comparisons. It is too easy to be judgemental and can be so hurtful. So take no notice, do not let this get to you but go on as you have been. Good heavens, you are a sensible mature adult (at least you seem to be!!) wink

NanaandGrampy Sat 30-Apr-16 10:36:38

Charleygirl you strike me as a woman with a great deal of common sense and self awareness so are quite capable of making your own decisions about driving without any input from anyone else !!

I have not read the thread because one of these days my anger will overrule my polite behaviour and I shall tell some of these mean commentators where to shove it !!

The invisibility of posting online removes the safety net from some mouths that they would not dare let drop in real life. Its like people who tell you things 'for your own good' ! Its not for your own good - its so they can be free with vitriolic advice. I pity them because unlike outward appearances that can be changed that sort of dark soul is unchangeable. Anyone who takes pleasure in another's discomfort is not putting bricks in their house in heaven as my Gran used to say smile

Please don't cry, its simply not worth your effort.

Now....back to the important stuff.... which of your new stores will you hit first?? I shall look forward to hearing for first impressions .

Nelliemoser Sat 30-Apr-16 10:36:56

Soop do take care of yourself. That's an order by the way.
I still remember that picture of you with your dreadful bruises after you fell flat on your face on the beach a few years ago.

I hope you don't feel too rough today. flowers wine

harrigran Sat 30-Apr-16 10:45:51

I hope you are feeling a little better today soop, you must have got a nasty shock. {flowers]

harrigran Sat 30-Apr-16 10:46:23

flowers sorry blush

annodomini Sat 30-Apr-16 10:47:42

Charleygirl, a good cry never does any harm, but don't waste your tears on granjura. She simply isn't worth it. Enjoy a shopping trip and indulge yourself a wee bit.
The weather is horrid again today. It has been sleeting heavily and I hope it stops in the next half hour since I have to go out and see a young girl I'm tutoring - luckily it's not too far to drive!

Gagagran Sat 30-Apr-16 10:49:35

Oh Charleygirl I hope you are feeling a bit stronger after your therapeutic tears. You were very kind to me once after I was upset by a former very strong poster so I hope coming here in the kitchen for some TLC and a virtual hug helps.(((hug)))flowers And take no notice of those having a go!

Now Madam Soop - are you going to start being sensible and taking more care? I hesitate to say "acting your age" but there - I have done. You have worried all your numerous pals and we want you to stop doing it! (((hug))) flowers
I expect you will be very sore and achey today and MacS will be just as concerned as we all are. Please let us know that you are not seriously hurt so we can be less worried.

I have brought a tray of flapjack with raisins and hope you can be tempted!
