No. My parents, both RC, never did either. My mother, 86, always says today's "excessive card-sending" is a sign of affluence.

I have 2 RC close friends and they always send me a lovely card with Easter wishes of peace and love so I always send the same to them but no one else. I know they appreciate them very much.

No never! I bet the card industry would like to encourage it though.

Yes, I do. I just buy a pack of 5 from M & S though and send to the grandsons and a couple of friends. I do like greetings cards and appreciate getting them myself.

I won't see any grandchildren this Easter so I've sent cards with money to buy their eggs.(eggs don't have to be oval or choc they can be bought at a bookshop)

I don't send Easter cards. It has never been a tradition in our family.

I have this morning received an e-card from a Methodist friend. She knows that I am not religious so I have thanked her but will not be sending one to her.

I don't send Easter cards and refuse to even consider it! My mum started with them a few years ago, but only for sending her DGD's money.

Various charities send free Easter cards, so I haven't bought any. I put them in the little parcels I made up for DS's, just wishing them a Happy Easter and noting what the parcel contained (and why!) If I didn't have the cards kicking around, I would just have written a letter, perhaps with a picture of an egg, a bunny or a daffodil on it.

Do you not send, or like to receive, birthday cards Anniebach ? Surely it is the choice of the individual as to whether to buy the cards, and if you don't want to take part then you don't have to. Some people think the sending of a card is more personal than a text.

I wouldn't mind a "Congratulations You Made It To The Dentist Card" as dentistry freaks me out these days, not just the work but the expense.

Ceasan, I love cards, just irritated by a card for every occasion, I send Christmas cards, love birthday cards, I do not send sympathy cards I write. I just think cards for every occasion known to man are too much,

No it must be new, I was brought up in Catholic household and never saw any evidence of them. There's literally a card for everything now, it's an industry of course.

I just came across this article about Victorian Easter cards. Some of them were truly bizarre!
