Easter holiday plans

First set went fine, and then the rain came, turned the field into a mud bath.

Sun is up , for a while anyway, Bit hung over after a 50th wedding party last night and a very late night/early morning.
Looking forward to good gig today, DJ, last night played a lot of the songs in the two sets we are playing, so got some singing practice in.

Well to fill the time in yesterday we headed off to White Rose shopping centre in Leeds as we've never been - bought an outfit for an upcoming wedding (note to self do NOT put on any more weight before August!) and several Next nail polishes (currently sporting 5 different nails trying to decide which I prefer), devoured a Thornton's chocolate bunny in the car (note to self - remember previous note!) and ended up in Ikea in the usual one way procession though the store telling each other what a daft idea this was! Just to mix it up a bit we backtracked with the trolley against the flow to get a tape measure but left with no purchase. Today we're staying home!!

No I don't do "When I'm cleaning windows", that's women's work.

OH and I are spending the weekend in our little campervan in County Durham. The rain is lashing down and the wind is making the van rock from side to side. Should be an interesting night!

We never head anywhere on Bank Holidays, dh hasn't the patience for the excess traffic.
And for the first time ever we have no family for dinner on Easter Sunday. Young 'uns are going glamping and taking their bikes for some off road tracks. We shall thoroughly enjoy the quiet

Hope it goes well. My step GS has just started playing the uke - he's pretty good! It seems to be an instrument that is growing in popularity.

As our car broke down Thursday, our weekend plans have been upended.

Daughter is coming to stay for rest of weekend tomorrow and leaving Gson to stay with us. (We were going there for the week) Hopefully car will be fixed Tuesday.

I have a gig at the Museum of Power in Maldon tomorrow with my ukulele group, not sure that the rain, wind and cold forecast is quite what we hoped for an outdoor event. Luckily I can get a lift there. So if you fancy coming along to hear the greatest ukulele band in Maldon (we are the only one) come along.

Oh that sounds good. a real interest for you.
Incidentally it is lashing down with rain here, the first time for ages. That has spoiled Rasyter plans for a lot of people.

No Ann...its the SOs holiday home...he's letting me furnish/dress it.Just bought some boats....little wooden ones not real ones...am also ironing bedlinen..something I never do at home.

Never done much for Easter used to work over bank holiday . On our own Sunday so having takeaway mom dd partner and God for tea we are having belly pork joint roasties and veggies with trifle to finish . Happy Easter whatever you are doing ??☕️

If there's one thing I'm good at it's doing nothing and I'll be doing precisely that all weekend! I'll be doing nothing all by myself too, which is bliss. Well, having said that, I mustn't forget my little dog, Charlie. He'll need feeding and walking but he's pretty undemanding company so we'll do nothing together. Ahhh....

What have I missed Tegan are you renting out your own home?

Painting furniture....house still isn't ready for rental.however found a fantastic cupboard in the back room of a junk/antique shop that fits a corner of the dining room perfectly....not having a proper computer does seem to free up a lot of time though....

easter this year is going to be a time of recovery for myself, my daughter and grandaughters. my daughter unfortunately brought a sicky bug home with her from work over a week ago and, typically, we all fell one at a time.

it's one of those bugs which really wipes you out - so i'm hoping that we'll be able to get some of the accumulated mess cleared up.

no housework has been done for over a week!! we haven't eaten properly but have been drinking like fish. however we did the four-weekly shop yesterday and it needs putting away .......... not something anyone's looking forward to in the slightest.

to tempt our appetites my daughter and i have been buying treats so i hope they will work and we can soon regain our collective strengths.

there'll be easter eggs for all [i hope] and the girls will have an easter egg hunt tomorrow. we've had the hot cross buns yesterday [only ordinary tesco ones but still nice] and maybe the simnel cake will be finished and the usual chocolate nests will be made too. hope we feel like eating them!!!

however - i wish all gransnetters and their families a wonderful easter. hope you're all in good health and that the chocolate eggs flow.

Nothing. DH playing golf. I'm going to the bank and Boots. We never venture forth at Bank Holidays. Many years ago spent several hours sitting on the M1 and vowed "never again". Luckily we are now retired and can go places when it's less busy.

I've had a massive bonfire and done some gardening. I've answered mails and read this lot + read my book which I finished. Later we have friends popping in for tea and then our youngest son for dinner. Then we're off to the cinema. Will that do? Whatever floats your boat is my message.

I agree it's not like the advert at all for me since a divorce I now live alone in a very small flat so the days of all the family having Easter Sunday lunch are gone when I would be shopping and preparing mountains of food all my grown-up children do their own thing with friends and no longer seem family orientated so I will enjoy the time of work do a few chores ,watch tv on catchup and try and enjoy the peace.

Entire family except DH and me is laid up with tonsillitis so I rather doubt if we shall see any of them this Easter.
