Afternoon biccie of choice?

Following on from the thread about obsolete biscuits, I'm debating my choices to go with my afternoon cuppa. My default is a chocolate digestive, followed on occasionally by dark chocolate leibniz (you can see there is a theme of chocolate!) What's yours?

Well I don't buy biscuits really as I am incapable of eating one or two or even three - not usually happy till the packet is gone. However if I had my choice today it would be M & S Pistachio cookie!!! Now I've gone and thought about them and there is an M & S Food in the next road!!

We only have Rich Tea in the cupboard at the moment as we thought they were the ones we could just have a couple and not finish the packet. Trying to cut down at the mo. Bikkie of choice would be either Chocolate Digestifs or a nice Shortbread.

No biscuits in at present which is just as well! I've just broken my tooth at lunchtime. We were eating salad, pulled beef and wraps. All soft food, so what happened? Dentist can see me at 3.30, so not long to wait. Oh phooey!!

Shortbread. Preferably with chocolate chips. Or those very fine almond thins. I've convinced myself they are a virtuous choice! grin

DH and I have just ppppicked up a Penguin (or at least, the Aldi equivalent of a Penguin!).

Currently munching bread pud but love an Oatie whether supermarket own or branded.

Short bread, swiftly followed by choclaty by Fox's biscuits, or a very ordinary digestive. (McDougals)

I try not to buy them, too much of a temptation. I did have a gorgeous macaroon with coffee yesterday whilst we were out for the day down in pretty Arundel, Sussex, I guess the memory of that will have to keep me going sad

Gingernuts! They last the longest when nibbled so I don't get through so many with a mug of tea. I am also very fond of shortbread and plain chocolate digestives.

Lona Thu 17-Mar-16 16:39:47

Elrel I can't have gingernuts without dunking them in my tea, which means I need three of them! blush

Elrel Thu 17-Mar-16 16:51:40

Lona - they do dunk very well, much more resistant to tea and coffee than most biccies! It's only when I'm exercising self restraint that I nibble!

Last year I bought a Poundland pack of Tunnocks Caramel Wafers to see whether I still liked them. I did! I find the syrup waffles that used to be found only in The Netherlands quite irresistible too. I'll not forget the pack of limited edition lime KitKats I found in a market either. Luckily I never saw them again ...

Am I the only person who prefers a Blue Riband biscuit to a Kit Kat? Apparently I am most unusual in my choice. I love a pink wafer too.

We dare not buy biscuits. But those cookies from Sainsbury in a bag of 5 are really nice. ( So I'm told.)blush

rosesarered Thu 17-Mar-16 17:58:31

Lully I ate 2 of those last night, they go well with a glass of milk.smile

Whilst raking in the cupboards earlier for the multivitamins I knew we had, I discovered an unopened tin of Fox's chocolate biscwits from Xmas! Happy day....love Vinnie the Panda!

McVities rich tea or a Wagon Wheel.

Indinana Thu 17-Mar-16 19:51:07

I think I must be a disgrace to womanhood, as I've already mentioned on the pudding thread that I don't like chocolate puddings or cakes and now I'm going to have to admit that I don't care much for chocolate biscuits either blush. (Although I do rather like Wagon Wheels).

My biscuits of choice are usually shorties, rich tea or custard creams. I used to love lemon puffs, but haven't seen them for ages sad.
