I used to visit the same psychic around every couple of years. A lot of what she said was very accurate and personal to me. She asked me what my connection was with Scotland, I said I no connection. Didn't know anyone who lived there and had never been there. The next year she asked me the same question. I said No you asked me that last year. She seemed annoyed as if she thought I was lying. A few weeks later my son was offered a job in Scotland. He met a girl there. They married and now have 2 children. He is very settled there and I don't think will ever live anywhere else. So I now have a very big Scottish connection.
I also visited a Medium who again gave very personal messages from parents. So personal I was shocked for months.
I have decided to leave those things alone now. I have heard enough to realize there is something in it.

My friends aunt X was psychic, she never did readings for money only friends and family that asked. If she rode on public transport she would tell you about the person that had sat in the seat before her. My friend is convinced that her GD takes after her great aunt X. The GD never met her GF but when the girl was about five she was swinging in the garden and described accurately her GF watching her. The clothes she described were ones he'd owned but not that she would have seen in photos.
I've never had a reading but I remain open minded about the whole thing.

That is so true Annie, and sad that people feel so bereft that they need to seek such help.

My concern is the money made by cold reading when a person is grieving , brutal thing to do

I used to live next door to a lady who believed in psychics, and would tell me that she had actually spoken to her dead father, and he told her what to do. I had a friend who lost her son when he was 5 years old, and she had tried to contact him through a psychic, without being able to, but my next door neighbour told me that it was not possible to contact young children as it would upset them, you had to wait until they had reached maturity, which seemed very odd to me. She was a lovely lady, but unfortunately her wisdom fell on deaf ears for me. Having said that, there have been occasions when I have known something was going to happen, - the one my husband remembers most is that one morning I should have gone to work, and I could not walk out of the front door, because I knew something had happened. Half an hour after I should have left home, my husband arrived riding a very battered motor-cycle, he had had an accident, but was unhurt.

At one time I used to join a group of friends using the ouija board.
One afternoon the letters spelt out a message that there was going to be a gas explosion in a block of flats in Glasgow.
And there was shock We never met again after that - I think it was partly because we hadn't believed it, but thought that if we had, maybe it could have been prevented.

I have had very clear predictive dreams but they tended to be about pretty insignificant events. Interesting and a bit scary at the time.

I was really interested in the second sight at one time. I have had two uncannily accurate readings. One was from a schoolboy who read my hand and the other was from a Highland gentleman. Both were spot on.
But I have also had readings which were way off the mark. Having said that though, I believe that we all have latent psychic ability which can be activated if we are able to still our minds long enough. Has anyone had an 'insight' into something that was about to happen or a feeling of deja vue when visiting a new place, for example?

Yes , I had a dear friend who was a well known physic - not the stage type - and she was most certaintly accurate

I used to work with a lady who was a psychic in training. She definitely had a gift. We worked night shift together in a Nursing Home. One night she told me she saw a man standing behind me and described my grandfather in some detail, even the age he was when his hair turned white. I had to ask my mother about that, but she was spot on. I've also been "read" at a public psychic reading (it was for charity). The young lady was from the Isle of Skye. She spoke about my paternal grandfather, but what amazed me was that she said I have a son in spirit, waiting to meet me. I did lose a very early pregnancy, I was never really sure if I had been pregnant, but my period was very late. I hope she's right.
I hope you enjoy your evening tow.

I'm definitely having a senior moment here but forgive me is this an afternoon with Newton's Law or Madame Arcati?

The answer to your question is no I haven't done either of these things but either way I'm intrigued - do tell us what happens.
