what's in your pocket?

I just want to know where you all get these coats with such massive pockets? All I could find was a scrumpled tissue and a small pebble...my bag on the other hand is a different story, weighs a ton!

I always have tissues (I bin the old ones when I get in and replace them with fresh ones ready for next outing).
VERY good tip about keys in pocket and not in handbag-will adopt that idea straight away, well next time I go out!
Always have my mob in my pocket, switched on and charged too.
Depending on outing, also have cash, co-op members card, library card, list (if needed) possibly bank card.
Handbag much more ordered. . . . .

Nfkdumpling I can't think for life of me why unless it was last year when I wasn't well and had to go the hospital in London and it was a case of better safe than sorry Lol

In town once I whipped out of my pocket a pair of knickers that I was supposed to have dropped in the laundry basket before going out....

Currently, my pockets contain several tissues, my phone, one earring, a pedometer, two receipts, a micro machine and a hairclip. I'm off out for a walk with DGS2, so by the time I get back I'll probably also have several dirty pebbles, a few leaves and the Stickman family.

(sweetcakes - why do you carry clean knickers in your pocket? Do you have spare socks and trousers in the other pocket? Beats boring stuff like tissues and gloves)

My DDs always used to tease me about my ability to always produce a tissue at a seconds notice. Now they have young offspring I notice they joined the ranks of tissue carriers.

I emptied mine Saturday I found a pair of gloves, a gift card with 3 pounds left on it and what I thought was a hankie turned out to be a clean pair of knickers, that could have been an embarrassing moment if I'd pull them out to blow my nose

I had to go and check, but nothing much in my coat pockets, just a pack of paper hankies and a pound coin for shopping trollies.As others say, the handbag is a different matter, it's a 'capacious bag' and contains anything I think will be useful ( and quite a bit that isn't too.)

At the moment I'm at the airport waiting for my flight back to Germany. WhenI travel I always keep everything in my jeans pockets as a coat or bag could easily be separated from me. Passport, purse with Sterling, purse with Euros.

My pockets are usually clean. I will often find old cinema or concert tickets in jackets or coats, though, which bring back memories!

By the way I was wearing a pair, those were from the day before.

ggmarion - your tights story made me laugh & reminded me of the time I hobbled back up the drive with a pair of pants stuffed down a trouser leg - only noticed when went out.....

i usually wear a thick cardigan when going out as it's only a short walk to the car [i'm disabled so can't walk far] and back so there's nothing in my pockets ever!!!

but ask me what's in my handbag and i could go on for ever!! i usually surprise people when they ask "has anyone got ..........." - i usually have! from a double ended screwdriver, digital camera, notebooks and pens to a small sewing kit and most things in between. usually carried "just in case".

I suppose I must be the exception as I check my pockets and my handbag every day and chuck out/file whatever is in there that isn't needed from day to day. It's easier than if you leave it to build up and only takes a minute.

I hate having a pocket full of clutter to rummage through, so I keep it to an absolute minimum: hanky, wallet, keys, phone, each in a separate pocket.

A few years ago I was cycling through Leek, and stopped for a look around. When I got back I felt for the bike key and couldn't find it in my pocket. I rummaged everywhere it could be, and then set off to retrace my steps all round town asking in every shop whether anyone had handed in a lost key. After a complete tour of town I checked my pockets again before I broke out the spare key, and found it hidden under my hanky..........

Coat pocket? A tissue, gloves and a trolley token. Jeans pockets hold my phone and keys. I find the step counter works better in my jeans and keys in my pocket mean I'm never locked out as once happened when I forgot my bag.

Poo bags, tissues, pretty shells and stones I forgot to take out last time (we live near the beach). Sometimes down my trouser leg the tights I was wearing yesterday which I had slipped off along with my trousers. Quite embarrassing when they start to peep out at the ankle.

Got into the habit of putting 4 year old dgd's tissue in the right hand pocket of trousers or coat when she visits & my own in left (to avoid cross contamination but I know it's not logical when she coughs/sneezes all over us when she forgets the hand over mouth rule!) Usually empty pockets when putting clothes away - but not always - hate finding used tissues on next wear. When on holiday with 4 year old it could be pebbles, shells, sand or anything which takes her fancy to take home and will fit in.

Loads of used tissues, pair of balled-up woolly gloves, two elastic bands, several receipts and a mini torch.

Cheap at the price if someone has to maintain it - even woodland doesn't look after itself!

A penknife. Always. The sort with tiny scissors and a screwdriver. I wouldn't be without it and it's the wonder of my grandchildren.

All my best coats have the pockets still sewn up so I can't make them out of shape with rubbish. However, when I have my walking coat on the left pocket contains tissues and an apple and the right my phone, my keys, small coins and my glasses case. My glasses will be on my nose so I can read as I walk.
