What makes you happy?

Since oldest GS said my son (his uncle) and I were the happiest people he knew I wouldn't want to disillusion him! Strangely keeping up the appearance of happiness morphs into the real thing - thanks, GS!!?

Grandchildren and anything to do with them anytime.

Living in the back of beyond with the snow capped mountains in the distance, sunshine and blue skies - even in winter and being able to watch the seasons and all nature brings, especially whilst swimming in my pool surrounded by it all.

The joy of longstanding friendships.

Books.

Wine!!! OH just brought me a glass of chilled rose.

I am happy knowing that Spring is on its way ?

Just in from a choir practice-that defo makes me happy. Working together with others to produce a lovely sound esp when it's challenging. Mostly jolly people all in it together
But as you say, nothing beats grandchildren. My dear sister's deceased lovely mother in law used to say "children's laughter-better than medicine". How true!
And all the other things netters have said, Spring just around the corner, seeing the flowers blooming AND we've got blue tits in our nesting box.
And lovely new young neighbours expecting their second baby any day too.

The cards I received from my 3 grand-daughters twins aged 6 and big sis aged 11. The spelling-Grand muvver-priceless! And my daughter finding the time to send me a special card.
Going for a motor-bike ride with my partner and doing 120mph on a dis-used runway.
So many things to make me happy.

Narrowboatnan do you live on your boat? That view would make me happy too. I have often thought I should love to hitch up our caravan and let out our house for a year. Too many responsibilities right now though.Not complaining, just a fact.

I've just been for a long walk in the sunshine. I stopped to watch the ducks and geese on the canal at the back of our house. That made me happy

I am happy as I have just managed to get a very grizzly GS down for a nap after much singing and rocking. Whew!

I will also be very happy when he wakes and gives me a big smile and holds out his little arms for a cuddle

Simple things for me. Knitting ,cooking, baking and having my family for lunch or whatever they need. Also walking my Westie. I've spoken to more neighbours in the last 7 months than I have done in 10 years in this house.

lots of things make me happy but the thing that makes me happiest is the realisation that i'm alive to be happy about things!!

i was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 1995 and had a total hysterectomy and three month's recuperation [no chemo fortunately] followed by ten years of annual ct scans. one of the happiest days of my life was in 2005 when i was officially discharged!!

so these days i tend to live from day to day enjoying everything that makes me happy from seeing a patch of snowdrops to the sunshine playing on the hills.

re-reading my post makes me realise how much i use exclamation marks - but that's another thread entirely!!

I got a Mother's Day message today from my American son-in-law in New York and that made me very happy. He lost his own dear Mum not long before the wedding in New York 18 months ago and the first thing he said to me was "Can I call you Mum now?"
Earlier in the week I had a beautiful Mother's Day card from our daughter, whom we miss very much and her present is on the way. (The American post is appalling!)
We chat to them for about an hour every Sunday afternoon and that makes me very happy too.
When my gorgeous husband tells me how much he loves me, that is the best feeling!

Yes. I like going past the local primary school when they are playing out. Makes me think of GS2 doing the same thing in his neck of the woods.

Actually, sitting doing not much at all, makes me quite happy. Especially with the sun coming in through the window like it is now.

driving through the back roads and country lanes in my part of the country,and seeing wild animals going about their business,the birds in the gardens,beautiful flowers,animals..

I was in the library the other day and had my spirits lifted by the 6 or 7 little ones fronm a nearby nursery. there is something joyous about small children which lifts one's heart.

I might be a bit behind the door on this but once a comment has been posted, how could someone then put a smile on it? Have I missed something?
