Decidedly chilly looking outside and I heard the gritter lorry go past at half five so there must be ice about. Bright and still though so hopefully it'll warm up a little. The rooks are very active this morning so Spring must be on it's way.

Brrr, it's cold this morning. Got to call the gas engineer out to look at our fire as we can only put it on the first heat setting - if we turn the dial round to full it jams and we can't turn the fire off . Well, we can, obviously, but this has happened on the last two occasions we've turned it to full, and it's taken flippin' ages to turn it off, so now we don't turn it up at all. And boy, I wish I could put it on full this morning .

Bright and cold here in mid Essex too. We had brilliant sunshine yesterday . DD1 who lived in Cumbria says it seems to have been raining there since October.

Ive got a photography session planned if it stays like this and if not I'm going shopping !! There's nothing worse than having tradesmen in your home so you cant do anything ! Ill leave them my newly baked banana bread and the tea makings and they'll be happy :-))

Very cold in the Tyne Valley this morning. -3°c according to the car. Today I am beginning the preparations for my weekend in Scotland with my DD and DGC. SiL is away at work so they are looking forward to seeing another adult, and DD is looking forward to adult conversation!

Good morning ladies. reading your posts about the weather in England is making me feel so home sick. Let me throw the cat among the pidgeons and tell you its so hot and humid here in Amanzimtoti, South Africa. The heat we can cope with but the humidity is awful. Our floors are wet with condensaton and I am CLAGGIE with persperation. I wish I coould meet you all, get together over a glass of wine and swop stories. You all seem like a great bunch of girls.

Good morning Michael, and GN's. Bright, sunny and very cold here in South Yorkshire. Car being serviced this morning so we will have a walk, while we're waiting for it, in a lovely wooded park near to the dealership. And maybe some fish and chips after! Wish it were a tad warmer though!

Thanks for the welcome Kitty. I'm not too new to Gransnet but haven't been "talking" much, I've been a bit of a byestander, just looking on. Harrigran you are right about were I come from, I'm from Seaham Harbour, came to South Africa 1981. Still miss "home" though. I'll check in again. Xx
