Are there are any bridge players on here? I've started playing again after many years so would be good to chat to other players at any level.

I am a keen bridge player and play twice a week.

Good to meet you! Have you been playing long and do you play in a club? I'm just coming to the end of a refresher bidding and playing course and wondering how I'll ever remember it all. They do have supervised play at my club though on certain nights so that will be a good starting point after my classes finish.

I'm playing Bridge with a U3A group. I find it very hard and I'm rubbish at it. The rules just don't seem to stick in my brain. I actually seem to do alright but I don't know why or how I did it. Bidding is a nightmare! Its an intriguing game though and I plan to stick with it.

I learnt bridge initially when I was 16. Took it up again three years ago . Play at two clubs ,each once per week. Duplicate bridge. It is my favourite leisure pursuit along with walking on the fells. There are some great books by Paul Mendelson. Andrew Robson's books are also excellent. Beware bridge is very addictive..!!

Husband used to play bridge at home with his father and brothers, and he persuaded me to join him. I had played before, but not much.
We used to belong to clubs, but he was much better than me, I just couldn't take it seriously. It's best if you have a regular partner though, you work out your own bidding system.
When we moved to France we joined a club - really enjoyed it, but they're so late finishing (sometimes small hours of the morning) and then the long drive home in the dark, we stopped going.
As Mum... above says it's very addictive.

Not many bridge players around. Perhaps they are too busy playing bridge to spend too much time on GN!!

That'll be it Mum!

I play Bridge - my best friend and I did a beginners course last year and about to do a 'next step'. We endeavour to play once a week but it's not always possible to find the time.

We do supervised play at Andrew Robson's club. Love it, just wish I were a better player!
