Although not now its on GN!
DH and I will have been married 35 years later this year it should have coincided with his retirement, but he decided to retire end of March instead.
The retirement talk has made me realise that we are getting older (especially DH as I'm 8rs younger)
Also having 3 grandchildren one after the other adds to the feeling that we are getting on a bit .
My dilemma is to tell or not.
When we first met it was love at first sight on my part.
My DH thinks it was him that did all the running and I let him think that a first I wasn't really interested.
But I engineered and manipulated situations, so that we were at same places at the same time.
I had even turned dates down
I knew instantly that he was the only one for me.
But I've never told him.
I was going to on our 25th anniversary, but never did.
So perhaps in view of time passing may be its time.

I think it would be lovely to tell him. It's really very sweet and I bet he would be so touched by your confession... good luck.

Im puzzled as to why you've felt the need to keep this to yourself all this time. You wanted him, you went for him. If he didn't want to be caught then he wouldn't have. If you do talk to him about it I'm sure he'll be quiet flattered. However, I have a sneaky feeling he knows what you did anyway wink

Depends upon your relationship now and your husband's sense of humour. Some might laugh, others might feel manipulated.

Cherry I should think that he already knows anyway and since (I presume?) he was the one who proposed I doubt that he will feel manipulated. I would just talk about it quite naturally when you are having your celebratory moments.
DH and I both made great detours to 'accidentally' meet and on one of those DH had an accident just outside my parents' house and had to come in and get bandaged! My mother could not stop smiling which was very irritating since it was the 'knowing' variety. Over the years we have often talked about all our 'machinations' and it has been a source of much merriment! In fact I think that our children could recount our funny stories as well as we could ourselves. smile

I think that I would stay quiet, most men enjoy 'the hunt' and he probably is pleased with himself for catching you, let it stay that way!

Just chat about it in a non-serious way. As in did he think you might have had a role in " netting" him? It can be lighthearted. Did he ever feel you may have manipulated him ? He could say he suspects you did or he could say no, he did all the running to catch you. In that case I'd keep quiet. It doesn't really matter anyway, does it, as you are both obviously very happy ?

My husband always says ' I chased you' I always reply 'I ran slow so you could catch me'.

I think its lovely , and I have always shared that with my husband but you know your husband better than us - will he be equally charmed?
