Morning all. Definitely better today. Thank goodness. Still got cough though.
I now have a purpose for a lovely pale blue flecked with white very soft wool I bought in a mad moment.
Crocheted baby shawl coming up. Darling daughter announced last night that her 20 week scan has shown she's expecting a BOY! I love my darling grand daughters ( not DVDs as I pad insists) to bits, but a boy will make a change.
Dgd1 is into tractors trains etc anyway. You won't see her in a dress. Dgd2 loves dolls, frilly dresses and guess what ?

Charleygirl it's nice that Tara missed you...did you feel guilty ?

I know Sam can make Himself feel guilty if a particularly tasty morsel isn't shared

As I have mentioned before, Tara my cat goes out between 7-8am when I surface and home again around 7pm. Yesterday evening I was out early and returned around 8pm to find Tara mumping and moaning on the doorstep. She must have come home as usual, found her mother was not at home so stood outside crying until I arrived. So funny because I am here 99% of the time and she knows it. I rarely go out in the evenings because I cannot drive in dusk and dark- I did not expect this response.

Got another busy day so I'm up and about and on my second cup of coffee.

I hope everyone who is still poorly feels a little bit better today and has a little sunshine to cheer up the day .

I will be scaling Kilimanjaro this morning....erm doing the ironing mountain !! A job I loathe.

Then I shall be treating myself to a nice pedicure before being Mum's taxi for youngest daughter to go to the osteopath. Grampy is being trusted to take charge of DGS3/4 .

This is a recipe for disaster as Grampy does have a habit of getting distracted . The little ones cant come to any harm but they can get up to considerable mischief in those 5 minutes silence. You know the ones - where every Mum in the land would immediately wonder what they're doing !!

Last time, as I recall the littlest one managed to put a large bowl of dog biscuits down the toilet and the big boy dug a hole to Australia in the garden

It`s been a lovely day, beautiful sunshine and quite warm when the sun was on the back, but it`s moved round now, and after spending a few minutes chatting to the window cleaner, I`m desperately trying to get warmed up again.
I can`t believe Torben`s almost 6, doesn`t time fly? Our youngest grandchild is nearly 8, it doesn`t seem 2 minutes since I was holding that new baby in my arms, and there won`t be any more babies, well, not unless they`re great grandchildren, of which there`s one so far.

ah 6 yr olds soop a very good age indeed ! I love the bizarre conversations we have with ours and the way their minds work.

Im glad to hear you and Galen are feeling marginally better. I find coughs linger much longer the older I get. They can be almost worse than the initial illness.

You're right Charleygirl it has felt very springlike here today, we popped over the Dartford bridge and the Thames was glistening with sunshine as it snaked its way into central london. Our grandson ( 4 yrs old) always shouts 'Its the top of the world Nana' when we drive over , and I suppose when you're 36 inches tall it pretty much is

soop I do hope that you do not intend to do your friend's ironing this week. You have to have more rest with maybe another walk through the village if the weather is okay.

It is like spring in London. I have just returned home from the monthly meet up for coffee with 2 other GNs who live locally. We have been meeting monthly for well over a year now, there are normally 4 of us but the other is working part time.

Galen Bless you. The cough continues to make me wretch (shades of childhood whooping cough) but, THANKFULLY, I'm feeling more-or-less human today. Please...no saucy comments.

Had a dreadful night. Coughing and difficulty in breathing between 4 and 6.30 this am. Then fell asleep and feel much better this am. Hope I'm over the worst of it as well as you soop, it's certainly the nastiest bug I've had in ages.

I've been out of the house for the first time in six days. We strolled through the village in the sunshine. Now it's time to say hello to all our Kitcheners.

Tizliz I agree with you. Ross County's win is a marvellous achievement. I bet there have been some lively cork-popping celebrations.

NanaandGrampy Your grandson's tribute was delightful. As grandparents we appreciate and treasure simple gestures. We are greatly looking forward to spending a precious, long-awaited weekend with our youngest grandson. He will be six next month.

Galen I hope that you are slowly but surely recovering from the lurgy. I shall not visit the doctor. I sense that I'm over the worst and just want to move on from feeling wretched. I'm not sure that I should visit the care home tomorrow. Probably not infectious....but it wouldn't be fair to introduce a bug into the care home after the Norovirus shutdown.

Hope everyone is beginning to feel better.

We don't have much sun here but it is lovely and warm - the heating didn't even come on this morning.

We seem to have an incredibly busy week - not sure how that happened. I have some crafting to finish and today we will be taking DGS3 on his usual swimming trip.

He visited yesterday and brought me roses because and I quote' he loves me and I'm his family' . His Mummy and Daddy are doing a great job with that boy ! He'll go far .

The rest of the week is filled up with a pedicure, hairdressers, taxi service and babysitting and a trip to find a piece of beef for Easter Sunday lunch!! Very important. I used to buy what my Gran called 'Aitch Bone ' which was a sort of squarish cut . But that was from a proper butchers which are hard to find these days. So it'll be a piece of topside if I can find a large one - or a turkey if not

Scotland did well in the rugby but don't forget Ross County winning the football league. I think they are only part timers! I don't follow either rugby or football but it is nice when the underdog wins.

I feel so blessed! DD s 1 and 3 and their respective husbands (DD2 and SIL were at HIS parents as it is her MIL's birthday tomorrow) and the 3 little DGC have just left after the nicest birthday imaginable, lunch out, back here for presents. Children and Grace to the park/playground while DH got his breath back here then back again for tea, cakes, and candles.
And Scotland WON the rugby (although of course I didn't see any of it, much too much taken up with my adorable little people.
It has been the loveliest of Spring days, God's in his heaven, all's right with the world

Thats one thing I can say for all 4 little ones Charleygirl if there is the faintest whiff of sunshine they're outside.

They all have iPads provided by Nana as I believe they are the technology generation and the earlier they start the better . But I think being well rounded is important so Nana also provides books, crafting and baking. Grampy provides gardening , sports and bugs !!!

Congrats to the Scots - not a sports fan but Ive heard it was a good match ( and that was through a floor and 2 closed doors )

I hate rugby but being a Scot I am delighted to hear that the boys won.

A great afternoon, yelling at the TV. Splendid win for our (Scots) boys who must be gaining confidence. Ireland, bring it on!

Thanks for the help re tying shoe laces, I am determined that these children are going to learn mainly because it is so dangerous running around with laces dangling.

Rory is well aware that yours are the hands which feed him. Tara has never sat on my lap- she prefers the arm of the chair or better still on the top of the chair. When I was choosing new chairs etc I had to keep her in mind also! Some of the chairs had very thin arms and tops, she would never have been comfortable.

Charleygirl there are a number of youtube videos about typing shoelaces using the magic fingers method - might be of some use ?

We have had a busy morning with the surprise arrival of 2 little chaps AND the sunshine !!

Had to share my picture of the boys and the dog all chasing each other in the garden . Sam should maybe be renamed Dumbo - look at those ears !! It's what sunny days are made for .

Shoelaces are so last century! I blame Velcro fastenings for the inability of children to tie their own shoelaces. I know my DSs could do theirs by the time they started school, in the 1970s. Imagine an infant teacher having to help 30 children to tie their laces! I think DGS1, now at senior school, can tie his shoelaces, but it's not long since he had to seek adult help.
