Cleansing milks

nanasam I noticed an advert for the micellar cleanser today - is it made with argan oil? Apparently it's organic, very light, and £6.99 from Waitrose.

When I tried that miraculous Boots serum a few years ago I came out in blotches, so I may stick to what I know.

Thanks for the recommendations, all. Will enter the new realm of cleansing carefully, not wasting my money on being tempted with expensive brands! Can't believe I haven't changed in 40 years!

I tried a micellar water recently but after about a week I noticed lots of small red blotches appearing on my skin. As I was also using a new serum I blamed that so stopped using it but the blotches remained. Stopped using the water and the blotches disappeared. I've now gone back to the Garnier cleansing milk in the green bottle. I find the best way of using any cleansing milk is to massage a small amount then remove with two cotton wool pads wrung out in hottish water. No toner. Leaves my skin really clean and fresh.

The superdrug's own make are cheap and good,often 3for the price of 2. They do a micellar water one and I a!ways get a teatree one for GD who can get a bit spotty at times.

I used cleansing wipes, any kind, and baby wipes if I run out. If they're good enough for baby's bottom.....

I remember the Anne French cleansing milk which I used when I was in my teens and twenties - I had no idea it was still being produced!
These days I use a Clarins cleanser which is quite gentle and just a thin liquid, or a Clarins facial wash because I like to wash my face sometimes too.

I've tried a couple of micellar waters, and the Garnier one suits me - it's light and soothing, and does seem to clean off all the gunk. I also tried Superdrug's own cheapo, which seems pretty good. I suppose 'yer pays yer money and yer takes yer choice'
Like you, Nanasam, I hate thick, gloopy creams, so micellar waters have been a bit of a blessing for me. I was afraid that they would disagree with my very dry, sensitive skin, but if anything they are more calming than creams.
I suppose a good idea is to start with a budget one, and work upwards until you find the one that suits you. I'm a bit of a tightwad, so if I can find a good 'own-brand' I would go for that every time!
