That is one of DHs pet hates too (Victor meldrew) - it completely goes over my head though

How do you attatch a gate closer to metal?

My DS is the biggest culprit! Grrrrrr!

Parcel Force chap is the only one who leaves ours open. He is unfailing with it. hmm

Gate closing springs make it hellishly hard to get a bike through.

I just Googled "gate closers". There seem to be lots of different kinds to choose from.
Could be the answer?

A big sign on both sides of the gate as well might remind them too

Could you put a spring on the gate so it closes automatically? DPs did this to make sure their dog couldn't get out.

OK I am about to have a little rant - so apologies before I start!

Why do delivery people, postmen etc. find it so hard to CLOSE A GATE! I have neighbours who don't control their dogs so I had a gate installed to stop the dogs leaving me little (some not so little) deposits on my lawn. Each time I get a delivery the driver leaves the gate open. It is very annoying as they mostly don't ring the bell, just leave the parcel in the porch and it is not until I either go out or look out the window that I (a) know I have a delivery and (b) notice the gate is open. As I live alone I get nervous that someone is in my garden and have to check all the doors and windows.

I know this is only a minor irritation but it is beginning to annoy me. Even a "please close the gate" sign doesn't make any difference!
