I live in an attractive housing estate and in the eight years of living here the neighbours opposite, who previously had two work vans and 1 private estate car, now have two work vans and three private cars all of which are washed once or twice a week by the owner filling the drains with soapy suds, and a spotlight which comes on at night to deter vandalism has now been installed. The neighbours have children too young to drive so why 3 private cars, two of which are covered and hardly ever used? Two of the parking spaces they use 'were?' council owned and had dropped curbs, now this neighbour has created 3 additional spaces (not with dropped cuirbs) using the green verges which he has chipped over with white stones, and lopping branches off a tree near one of the newly created spaces in order to be able to park a caravan there occasionally. Some of that land he has taken over was leased to the council but the council doesn't want to know, and will not say if he has purchased the additional land from them (back hander?). Is this legal? What can be done? It has affected the value of my property as it is an eyesore at the entrance to this estate. Thoughts please as the neighbourhood is incensed.
