Hi minnie, well done on your first postflowers. I'm 68 at the end of the month, and I don't find loss of looks bother me - I was never a stunner anyway. I mix with a mixture of ages and generally find it's attitudes that attract me. Older people generally have a wider experience of life, but can be very fixed and conservative in their views (especially here in Shropshire); younger ones are often more wide-reanging in their ideas.^This is a huge generalisation, I know, before the attacks start!^. My biggest problem with getting older is that I can't do all the physical things I didn't even pay two thoughts to when I was younger. It takes much longer to regain fitness, flexibilty is reduced, aches and pains are more common etc.

Hi everyone, have read some great posts on here but always been the watcher and this is my first time writing anything.
Does anyone else feel slightly put out about getting on a bit? I find myself surrounded by my DDs and daughters in law who are all young and beautiful and have given me a dozen GC between them!
I associate more with them than friends my own age and maybe that is why I feel ancient and creaky. I try to look my best but have gradually put weight on over the past few years and I am finding that I can't leave my bedroom on a morning without a full face of make up just to make myself feel better. Should I accept that at 56 that's how it's going to be from now on?
