You Would not only have to water his wine Greyduster you would have to watch him with Elvis! Seat Elvis next to Katherine instead, and Caine would like the Duchess Of Devonshire ( and she would like him.)
will anyone like Les Dawson though?

Greyduster Sun 17-Jan-16 19:39:59

I definitely don't want Monty Don, but i would have Alexander the Great (but you'd have to water his wine!), Katherine Hepburn, the late Dowager Duchess of Devonshire (and i suppose if she's coming, we'll have to invite Elvis!), Michael Caine and Les Dawson (he might even play the piano for us!hmm).

I feel indigestion coming on.?

LullyDully Sun 17-Jan-16 19:36:47

Not sure I'd invite Mary Berry unless she did the cooking.

Perhaps everyone could bring course. Nigella doing the starter, Jamie the main course.......Mary could bring the pud.

willow you would need a pile of cushions for the chairs of your smaller guests.?

rosesarered Sun 17-Jan-16 19:25:41

Any three extremely good looking young men, with perfect manners, charm, well groomed, and well dressed, intelligent and with amusing anecdotes to tell.smile
Well, it's a good dream!

merlotgran Sun 17-Jan-16 19:21:20

I think I'll add Mary Berry then she can sit next to Lord Nelson and cut his food up for him. grin

Willow500 Sun 17-Jan-16 19:19:42

Hmm - I'd like Kit Harrington, Peter Dinklage, Johnny Depp and maybe Cate Blanchett and Liv Tyler. They'd all have to be in character of course and then I'd have to have someone like Jamie Oliver to do the cooking as my culinary skills are non existent so have never actually done a dinner party! shock

Imperfect27 Sun 17-Jan-16 19:14:51

Jimmy Stewart, Gregory Peck, Kathryn Hepburn, Maureen O'Hara and Tom Hanks!

rosesarered Sun 17-Jan-16 18:55:29

Daddima Adolf Hitler? Are you sure ?shock

merlotgran Sun 17-Jan-16 18:52:26

Monty Don, Horatio Nelson, Gladys Aylward, Daphne du Maurier and Graham Norton to keep everyone talking.

We could then have a good old singalong with Chas and Dave.

ninathenana Sun 17-Jan-16 18:39:16

Dara O'Brien (sp) that rare combination of brains and comic talent.

Sorry if this has been on before. The Old Man was just watching David Attenborough on the tellybox, and it's reinforced my wish to have him ( David, not the Old Man!) at my dream dinner party, along with Billy Connolly, Adolf Hitler, Sandi Toksvig, and Her Majesty the Queen.

Who's going to yours?
