A map of us Gransnetters

When I was reading Good morning Saturday and each GH member stated the weather in their part of the UK and beyond, I thought wouldn't it be good if the Techy people at GN constructed a map of the UK and nearby continent for us to identify the area we live in.

We openly, well some of us, say where we live so why not have it on a visual map.

How hard would that be to do ?

I live in South Bucks in the Thames Valley for starters.

Perhaps we should rename ourselves 'Grannysanon'!!

grannylyn65 Thu 21-Jan-16 14:38:35

Why wouldn't I want people to know? confused

I suspect Gullygranny I have become a southern softie as when I travel towards the north I begin to feel the cold, or it could be my age grin?

I agree we are fortunate to have so many lovely places to visit on our doorstep, but I think you could say that about many parts of the country. If I didn't live in the Thames Valley I could happily move to the New Forest.

Furriner saying Hello to you all from the Algarve here. smile with a big thank you to tanith who placed me right in the centre of my county town.

NanKate, yes it's lovely around here, not too far from nice countryside but within striking distance of London and Oxford.

We UKers are, I think, very fortunate to live on "this sceptr'd isle" with such an amazing range of scenery and fascinating towns and cities.....

I am Scottish.I really don't want to reveal the area I stay but I do live in Central Scotland.

Elegran Mon 18-Jan-16 09:53:41

That is great to see Faye in Oz and on the other side of the world the crowded UK, both at once. Any more furriners going to add their markers?

Elegran Mon 18-Jan-16 09:50:34

But to add your marker you need the "secret?" link.

Its nice to lots of new markers/names on the map.

Faye Sun 17-Jan-16 22:14:58

I used to live in the Thames Valley too, we owned a semi detached house.

Now I am on the map, I put the nearest main road. The Southern Hemisphere has been included. smile

You can get a password by taking out a (free) gmail account. The same password opens all your Google things.

MaizieD Sun 17-Jan-16 21:35:10

Hmm. I can't even look at the map. Google wants a password..

NanKate Sun 17-Jan-16 19:39:55

I'm a Brummie gulligran bit like you have lived in the Thames Valley a long while, almost 40 years. I like it round here, plenty to do and nice countryside to walk in.

I haven't seen you on GN before, perhaps you frequent different threads from me. Mine are mostly Chat, Films and Style and Beauty. I'm still not beautiful. grin

gulligranny Sun 17-Jan-16 16:17:06

South Bucks, Thames Valley for me too, NanKate. Born & bred in North London, though I've lived here for more than half my life.

Anniebach Sun 17-Jan-16 15:12:28

Thank you tanith

tanith Sun 17-Jan-16 15:10:32

If anyone wants to be added to the map but is having difficulty PM me it looks like I can add other peoples markers. Just the general area is good enough..

MaizieD Sun 17-Jan-16 15:02:59

10 miles S of Durham City.

Can't put it on the map because I don't remember my google password and I don't want to change it as I'll then not remember the new one I hate passwords sad

Flintshire/Cheshire border.

tanith Sun 17-Jan-16 14:11:43

You can zoom in Anniebach so you can see the town names then just keep zooming till you get to where you want or roundabouts.

Anniebach Sun 17-Jan-16 14:05:30

Looking at the map I can't work out where South Wales ends and mid Wales start smile
