Got up early, left DH snoozing, made a cuppa and a bowl of porridge and treated myself to a few minutes peace and quiet.
Then he got up!!
An engineer from the electricity board came to the door to ask permission to check an overhead line that runs across the bottom of our land. I wanted to shut the dogs in the bedroom because it was p***ing down outside and I didn't want them dashing out and heading for the nearest muddy puddle.
Too late!! DH was already opening the door so I tried to grab Peggy, who is the more boisterous of the two JRs. DH has no peripheral vision so as he flung his arm out shouting, 'Get indoors' to the dogs, he managed to nearly knock me out!! I was literally knocked sideways and burst into tears clutching a bloody nose and trying not to fall over.
What chaos!! The poor man at the door didn't see what happened so must have thought he was witnessing a scene of domestic abuse. DH was full of apologies although I wasn't up to being understanding AGAIN
and the dogs siezed their chance and legged it up the road (they haven't got used to our new place yet)
The last time he did this we were at a supermarket checkout and he was indicating where he thought I should be putting stuff.
It's taken me nearly half an hour to type this because himself is supposed to be doing jobs in his workshop but keeps coming back in to see if I'm OK.
I just want to be left alone to do the washing, ironing, cooking and other essential jobs. No chance!
Now he's making me ANOTHER cup of tea.....Oh the temptation to throw it at him
