Merry Christmas, everyone, rather late but the day was busy and lovely. I hope you are all right after your fall, Galen, but confess to wanting to hear the full story of you and the gardener.

Merry Christmas from NE Scotland. It has been dry and bright here today. DH and I by ourselves today apart from a visit from 1 DD and husband and 3 DGC on their way to DD's in-laws for lunch. Other DD and 2 grandchildren 140 miles away with in-laws. All will be here for New Year. We have enjoyed a low key day.

Merry Christmas to you all from a dry (atm - fingers crossed!) Tees Valley.

We had breakfast in bed this morning, then went and mucked out, always a treat ? .

There's a loin of pork in the oven, crackling is crisping up nicely and all the veg are prepped. We'll be opening a nice bottle of fizz to go with lunch.

Thank you ninathenana for your kind thoughts for us in Cumbria. So far the weather has been fine today but the forecast is not good for later. So dogs walked early and bird in the oven ready for the onslaught of grandchildren. Thank you for the suggestion of different wrapping paper for each child, made life much simpler! Happy Christmas everyone.

Galen I do hope you had more on than the time you fell in the bathroom and had to get the gardener to assist!

Galen Fri 25-Dec-15 11:12:55

Started by falling in my suite! Had to call for assistance. I'm not hurt, just shaken!
Merry Xmas to you all from between the Canary Islands and Lisbon.

Actually, to be honest, it's not all bad. I went outside to the garage late last night to see if the parcel I am expecting from Amazon had arrived while I was out, maybe. (it hadn't). It was wonderful... there was a huge bright silvery moon lighting up the whole sky. And suddenly the sound of a hooty owl somewhere very close, sounding so clear and beautiful.
I stood in the silver light and listened.
It was one of those magic moments.

Happy Christmas.
Slow start to my day as I am on my own until I go to DD's later on.
Just had a couple of Weetabix with sweepings up from some crumbled Florentines that I made yesterday. Decadent, or what?
Had Clare Balding on Radio2 and now it's Stewpot.
Gentle rain happening and my thoughts are with the flood-affected and those displaced by conflicts.

Good morning, cool and grey here. Happy Christmas to everyone. Santa does not visit this house. I have been up since 8am preparing salads and putting together food for buffet supper at DS's home. In an hour we will be travelling to see GC and then on to a restaurant.

Thought I would have a lie in today, my cat thought otherwise. Dull and grey in NW London but at least it is dry for now.

Yesterday for me was a lovely day, today cannot better it until maybe the phone starts ringing.

I am on my own, content and happy.

Happy Christmas everyone. Hubby said i should look at my computer for half an hour or else I'll be twitching! The turkey is in the oven. Mid morning my daughter, hubby and granddaughter will arrive for an early lunch. Daughter is working from 2pm. Mid afternoon we hope to drive to our son's house to see him and his young family. Praying that there is no stress today. It always seems to creep up on us.

Merry Christmas all, however you spend it. Dull in South East, but no rain. Just us and DD with little terror grandson. Just off to visit my parents' grave, then church. Peace - hopefully - to everyone. Xx

Merry Christmas to everyone.

I'm in Taunton today: it's damp and gloomy so far and I'm developing another cold. (Is it coincidence that, since my flu jab, I've had one cold after another?) Still, my DS has brought me a nice cup of tea, Father Christmas has left a stack of goodies under the tree and my DDIL is cooking yummy lamb for Christmas dinner so all I have to do for now is lounge in bed in my cosy thermal Jim jams. Happy Christmas everyone!
