Write remaining birthday cards and post
Wrap Christmas presents and remember the labels as I do them (memories of trying to be clever and forgetting what was in which one)
Write food list
Summon up oomph or pester DH to get tree etc down from attic
Phone DD to check when coming down
Sort out veggie recipes for DD over the holidays and add to shopping list
Clean house thoroughly from top to bottom
Try to enjoy the festivities!!!

I wouldn't put it round the actual cushions. Just round the JL sack (which is already a quite fetching shade of green)

Why am I on here?

Just got home from work and the bl...y boiler's on the blink. I've driven 89 miles today, no lunch or coffee so I'm doing absobloodylutely zilch until I've had 3 coffees and something to eat (I'm like a bear with a sore head ?!)

5 more birthdays between here and 25th, have written cards and DH is posting them (I think he'll faint when he finds out how much that'll cost!)
Bought some presents, really need to pull my finger out pdq.....

Mind the green and red crepe paper - the colour can run if it gets at all damp with or water

One set of lights died on the tree!! I had to cut them off to avoid taking decorations off!

Managed to get the last box of equivalent lights I the shop!

Put them in a vacuum bag and suck all the air out (with a vacuum cleaner, not actual sucking )

Mind you, it took a long time for our winter duvet to return to normal

The covers are already on the cushions. Huge JL sack delivered to DH while I was out shopping this morning. I can't take the covers off. Might just tie red and green crepe paper 'ribbons' round the whole thing. Got away with that with son's birthday beer advent calendar (which was huge). [tchhmm)

Just wrap the cushion covers. Wheel out the cushions later.

I haven't made my cake yet as it has to GF and I know it will be horrible just like the ghastly bread. Might not bother.

Definitely only wrap one. They will guess what the other three are any way

If you had bought someone four (plump) cushions, would you try to get wrapping paper all round the four of them, or just wrap one and tell him the other three are in the wardrobe?

Actually, might have a little taster of Xmas spirit right now.

Well, I made the marzipan and let DH have a taste. Big mistake! He says it's not so sweet as I 'usually have it' and it's 'a bit of a funny texture'. WELL HARD FLIPPIN' LUCK! It'll have to do.

Considering the cake sunk a little bit in the middle in the baking of it, things don't really bode too well.

Oh well. Good job I got a Meg Rivers one in to fall back on, just in case.

This thread is a great idea. I have already realised that I had mentally crossed off the Christmas cake, and in fact I still have to marzipan and ice it

Just got a text to say husband is bringing home two trees tonight so will decorate them throughout the evening - whilst missing my sons who usually help or do that job for me. The kitchen floor needs washing, but my get up and go has gone. I did most major housework tasks on Saturday and almost all of the gifts are wrapped, but there are cards aplenty that won't write themselves. I'm feeling very tired and washed out today so I'm giving myself the day off.

Write Christmas cards.
Pre-Christmas coffee morning with friends (not really a job )
Ironing
Practise making a tiramisu for those who won't eat Christmas pudding

Walk dog for one hour - done
Feed birds - done
Quick Hoover through - done
Iron dry washing - done
Put on more washing and hang - done.
Clean kitchen and fridge - done
Make salmon and prawn lasagne and plums in port for lunch - done
Finish on line shopping list -done
Wash up - done
Watch an episode from that famous pornographic serial Game Of Thrones -done
Slob in chair and read and GN - doing.

Write the letters to go in with cards. Every year I get all the easy cards out (love from Maggie and family), then I rest on my laurels for a bit. That blessed period is now over.

Re-wrapped the Christmas puddings (only made them yesterday )
As well as doing the washing, changing the bed, cleaning the bathroom, downstairs cloakroom, making soup for lunch.
Worn out now!
Now to do some wrapping of presents - perhaps
or can I have a break?
