Hi! I know what you mean. I'm afraid my get-up-and-go got up and went. The weather is so depressing, although I don't know what I expect in The UK in December. I have no preparations to make for family visits etc. this year and so no incentive to stop being so darned idle and do something about tidying the 'no go' area of the spare room. Oh well, yet another cuppa looming.

I never feel the need to feast. It's that simple.

As for xmas food... I haven't even thought about it yet.

I symapthise, nina. I don't have much xmas spirit for myself either. I do send cards to a few people and buy presents for Minibags and the GSs but I'd happily do without xmas decs.

I think Minibags has dug a small artificial tree out and is decorating it for her own room, and I may go and dig up one of the spruce weeds up the hill–only a small one–but I also might not.

What does delight me is the passing of the darkest days of winter and the return of the light smile

I always make Christmas Eve special. Always a rich beef casserole and an apple clafoutis. And the tree goes up and the candles lit . You still have lots of time Nina.

Why not have a well-earned rest and get the family to put them up when they arrive as a joint celebrational activity? - with a glass of something nice in hand!

Today I planned to put up the tree and decs. I have cleaned and polished the lounge in preparation then sat down for a bite of lunch and now I feel like I just can't be a**ed I have zero Christmas spirit.
If it wasn't for the fact DC's will be here one day before Christmas I'd say s*d it sad
