How do you pronounce Shrewsbury?

'Shrow' here too. I went to stay there with a friend when I was in the Army and they all seemed to pronounce it that way.

Both are acceptable. I always pronounced it Shrow because of ShrOpshire, but I've heard relatively recently that locals say Shrew.

An elderly aunt insists that it is ShrOWEsbury, but my brother, who lives near the town says it is ShrOOsbury. Interested to hear your opinions.
