Two counties : Cumbria and Northumberland.
I moved the eleven miles from east Cumbria to south west Northumberland twelve years ago.
We intend moving when my DH retires next year, but where will we go?

None - I have never lived in England.

But I have lived in 3 counties in Wales. Actually I stayed in the same place. but the county changed. It was Monmouthshire in 1951 when I was born, then changed to Gwent in 1974, finally becoming County of Newport in 1996.

8 but more moves than that and 9 if you can count the same one twice as they are 50 years apart!

Surrey, Greater London, Middlesex, as feetlebaum has already pointed out this county has now disappeared, West London. Our next move will be back into Surrey. I do love Dorset/Hampshire/Sussex though, would quite like to move a bit further south, but the gravitational pull of children and grandchildren....

Nelliemoser Tue 20-Oct-15 09:28:34

Oops! Given the way boundaries have changes, I am now officially in Cheshire East, not Cheshire.

Nelliemoser Tue 20-Oct-15 09:25:07

Leicestershire, Northamptonshire, Avon (Bristol). Yorkshire. Glamorgan (Cardiff), London Boroughs of Haringey and Redbridge. Cheshire.

Eight in all. (Where I have had a registered address or a tenancy.)

As a child, (when in England) Hampshire, Bedfordshire, Yorkshire, Buckinghamshire and the Isle of Wight.

As an adult, Isle of Wight, Suffolk, Norfolk and now Cambridgeshire.

feetlebaum Tue 20-Oct-15 09:08:24

1. Middlesex, which disappeared and became part of Greater London

2. Buckinghamshire, which later became Berkshire (or at least my bit did).

3. Cornwall - amazingly, it's still Cornwall.

ginny Tue 20-Oct-15 08:54:01

3, Middlesex, Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire.

shysal Tue 20-Oct-15 08:47:20

Always lived in Oxfordshire.

Indinana Tue 20-Oct-15 08:41:01

Three - Greater London, Essex, Devon. I've lived in Devon longer than anywhere else, which I would never have imagined when I was younger. Still an Essex Girl at heart smile

Pittcity Tue 20-Oct-15 08:38:29

I have always lived in Essex, although some places are now called London Boroughs.

Andyf Tue 20-Oct-15 08:33:03
