pneumonia jab

I look closely into everything pushed by the NHS and don't have flu jabs. Last year's vaccine was only 30% effective and very many health workers choose not to have it.
I have had the pneumonia and shingles jabs and, aged 6, had 10 days of rabies jabs. Now that was memorable.

Yes, it is a once only jab for pneumonia. I rarely notice any effect after my annual flu jabs. I have yet to have my shingles jab.

I had one years ago, with my flu jab, and then told, I didn't need another one ever!! It was swollen for a while after, but worth getting ,

I presume the pneumonia jab is once and for all since I had it nine years ago and have not been asked to have another. I've been having the flu jab for well over 20 years as my then GP offered me one when I was seeing her for something else and I had an annual jab from then onwards. Never any problem

I had the pneumonia jab in one arm and the shingles in the other at the same appointment and had a bad reaction - the pneumonia one was worst. Very red, hot and swollen site of the injections. The inflammation went right round my arm. I had to have anti-histamines and was advised that as I had such a strong reaction to the medium the vaccine was in I should avoid any further injections as the reaction could get worse. So I don't have the flu jab.

I had flu and pneumonia jabs 2 weeks ago. The pneumonia arm was aching for about 24 hours and the following day I felt a bit 'off' for most of the day - nothing serious just a bit lethargic. I was fine by the time I opened my weekend wine bottle.

I had a shingles jab last year and was fine but I only ever had one flu jab and that made me very poorly so I don't have it now. I thought the nurse at the surgery would tell me off but she said she didn't blame me and she never has it herself. Sorry, eccentric, never had a pneumonia jab so can't comment on that.

I had my shingles jab yesterday and no ill effects at all not even a sore arm.I had the flu one last week and my arm was sore to touch for a couple of days.

I had a mild headache after a shingles jab. The info I was given said it was a common side effect.

DH is also having shingles jab when we go for flu jab- any reactions to that? The last couple of years have have felt awful after the flu jab, fingers crossed this year.

I had it, together with my first ever flu jab last week fine over the next couple of days then my arm started to hurt , it was hot and painful. I wasn't able to sleep on the affected side but did not have a problem using it or carrying a small bag of shopping. A week on and all is fine.

I had a pneumonia jab on Tuesday, along with my yearly flu jab. Apart from slightly achy arms yesterday I've had no problems at all. I'm in good health but I am asthmatic which is my prompt for taking up the jabs.

No problem at all - having had one sort of pneumonia before I was up for preventing another bout. I had the jab last year and no reaction whatever.

Flu jab this year was a doddle as always. Obviously if people have an allergy to eggs then it is not a good thing to have.

Best thing is to have the jab at a time when you are really busy then the mild discomfort pales into the background.

How lucky we are to have these preventive measures available free.

Arm was slightly hot and mildly swollen for a couple of days afterwards, but that's all. Nothing like my reaction to the only 'flu jab I ever had.
