Kissy kissy 1, 2,3.

Cheek proffering confuses the hell out of me. My sisIL has always done it and like jingl I wonder what would happen if I did it at the same time.
I usually give her the smallest peck I can muster.....I get nothing!

My younger sisIL is Swiss and does the kissing both cheeks thingy but I'm never sure which cheek I should aim for first.

Both my brothers just do a big hug which is so much nicer because I can give them a kiss at the same time which is more about affection than etiquette.

The kissy kissy bisous are still alive and well in our bit of France. Every time we see friends and neighbours you have just got to do it. Is it two, three or four? Left first or right?
It takes ages to get round the whole gym group before the class and worst of all is standing outside in the cold kissing the whole village before social events start.
Drives me bonkers.

Ah yes, Mamie, bisous/biser. I have French friends I won't ever dare look in the face again because I thought the French for kiss was baiser. It was once, wasn't it? Anyway, I only realised recently what the heck I have been saying all these years in the Christmas cards.

It was indeed once that Maggiemay. Sadly no longer. the Christmas cards must go down a storm.
One of my French friends took pleasure in telling me how they all laugh at the English when they talk about preservatif in jam. I smiled sweetly and said, "nothing to how they laugh at the local restaurant called Chez Fanny".
