Suggested by jings of jangly fame. If you want to take part, post your age and what region of the country (or which country!) you live in.

I'm still 59 until next month and I live in Argyll, Scotland.

henetha I can beat you as I was 78 in July but I think we are not the oldest on GN. I live in Stockport but originate from Derbyshire.I live with my DH who has Alzheimer's but we cope very well (most of the time).I have a daughter 50 and a son 45 and 6 GC aged from 16 to 4. I did put a photograph on a thread about grey hair but am using my laptop just now and can't do photos from it.

My friend and me (I am the one on the right left wink)
I am 67, have lived in Scotland for 35 years but originally come from Sussex. I am a not very merry widow with 3 gorgeous girls, 5 grandsons and 3 granddaughters all of whom live far, far away.

whitewave Fri 09-Oct-15 19:00:04

I am 69. Have 1 daughter aged 44 and 1 son aged 42. 2 grandsons aged 15 and 11. Live near Brighton on South Downs. Married in 1968. DH is 70 a whole 6 months older than me. Duncan McTavish the Cairn is 6 and gorgeous, beside me on the sofa with his legs in the air, looking at me with one eye.

I am 67 - again, how did that happen! I feel much younger in my heart, but much older in my health! How frustrating is that?

I am married to a retired GP who has PD and a dicky ticker. I have 3 lovely daughters whom I treasure and 7 GC aged from nearly 13 to 5 months: 5 boys and 2 girls. Six of them have 3 letter names and two have the same name - I do get mixed up sometimes!

Two DDs and 4 GC live nearby - so lots of child care and fun - and exhaustion!

My life is full of music - I run a choir and sing in a choral society. And our village is full of all sorts of activities in which I play a full part.

We live in absolutely the most beautiful part of the world and my desire to travel is zilch. I can look at our view all day and never tire of it - travel programmes on the TV will suffice for me. We are in Herefordshire on the South Wales border, and, rather than posting a picture of me, I am posting a pic of the view from our balcony at sunrise - magical. We sit in bed and enjoy this view every day of our lives and it makes up for some of the stuff that life has thrown at us.

Envious, I've never visited, nor am I likely to now, but my abiding impression of Nashville has always come from the words of The Lovin' Spoonful's 'Nashville Cats'.

And that's the one I'll stick with! smile

Envious Fri 09-Oct-15 18:04:53

I'm 62 and live in Nashville,Tn. It's really not as bad as you perceive it! I've no grandchildren and I'm about to give up hope of being one. sad
