I have been confined to quarters lately with a dodgy knee so have been watching quite a lot of tv, viz A Place in the Sun and the like and am amazed at how many of the would-be purchasers enter a property and say, usually in a surprised, whiney voice, 'OOh, it's very Spanish isn't it?/The decoration is a bit Portuguese/Look at the view isn't it lovely' (a row of identical concrete blocks with a glimpse of a palm tree in the distance). When visiting a local village, they exclaim 'Look at the food, it's all very French isn't it?' What on earth do they expect? Yesterday's couple fell in love with a property that would have looked very at home in British suburbia - antimacassars on the 3 piece suite facing the TV, not the beautiful outside view - carpeted floors and then went into a state of delirium when told the house had underfloor heating (in Southern Spain). Am I just being a grumpy old woman with a pain in the leg........ ?
