Can't be bothered day.....

I'm very slothful today and can't be bothered getting off the sofa. I have a hair appointment at 12 and then meeting friends for lunch but I am struggling to get on, tidy up and get organised. I feel perfectly fine physically so no excuse there. I woke up feeling like this-where has today's motivation gone?

I love these kind of days. Just go with the flow I say if you want to sit and read do it smile(smile)

patd if you took a dog out at seven o'clock in the morning, you've done quite enough for one day! Respect!

I was determined to make a jobs list, and do it today, but DS managed to make me cross in an email (cocked up a holiday booking) and I went back to bed. Might as well make it a down week now. hmm

You are all so normal !!!
Has it not been said since time began...
Life has its ups and downs!!!!
If you don't have down days ??? How on earth will you enjoy your up monuments/days??

Those that are hard pressed to daily fill obligations for weeks on end ! Often end up crashing out with illness , that makes them rest !
My normal has always been erratic !! I work hard for three days, but by Friday its sloth, ww/ends are very mixed , depending on weather , and family !!!
At present I am at my daughters in USA enjoying sunny and hot days !! This weather I love! Also helping my family is a joy ! Back UK in Oct:

Don't want to worry anybody but some of this sounds a lot like depression. How lucky you are Indinana to have your daughter, grand baby (and dog) popping in. My daughter and our 2 grand daughters were living in Australia until a couple of weeks ago and I longed for the day when they could just come round so I now relish the mess and tiredness when they now do.

I managed to hoover today and clean the George Forman grill after DH had steak last night. (Not a job for a vegetarian) Once saw one of these advertised as a George Formby grill! That's what we call them now. Back on sofa to gain some energy for tonight's panto rehearsal.

...to take a day or two to GET over it!

Nanacat13 Wed 16-Sept-15 13:22:56

Please may I join the Sofa Club? Feeling extremely guilty as I shirked my exercise class this morning. My excuse? I travelled by train to London (4 hour journey) for the weekend, to visit two of my grandchildren. It was great fun as usual but tiring, and I seem to take a day or two over it.

sunshine today, hoora.

Made a decision to do the dead heading today, last time before winter probably.

The garden is still so full of colour and foliage it has been my joy. My neighbours finally chopped down their leylandi one side and blow me their laurel on the other side. (I hate laurel) and it has made such a difference for us.

Happy gardening to those who love to garden, soon be the frosts sad

I've had three days of slobbery, although I have unpacked my suitcase which usually takes weeks. Does anyone else find they pick at food a lot on days like this, though..put on weight and then feel more slobbery than before? I ate nothing but Cornflakes yesterday with copious amounts of milk and sugar blush; oh and some ginger biscuits that the S.O. had left at my house [they go so well with a cup of tea, don't they!].

It's great to hear that so many of us have sofa days. I have no choice most days these days so it can get quite tedious when I would rather be doing something else but confined to quarters. Still, some good tele has come back on, even rubbish afternoon tele, like Who'se Doing The Dishes? is good at the moment. Plus the quizzes, then there's jigsaws to do and wait for postman to bring my ebay goodies.

So all enjoy your sofa days, rest up before the rush of the winter festival approaches. Recharge your batteries, we deserve it, we have worked hard for years and years. smile

Well, made it through the day but was a bit like a rabbit in the headlights over lunch. Don't think anyone noticed though. (I hope) Now back on sofa......

<opensoneeye> did someone speak.......zzzzzzzz

It's raining on and off again, and like the weather I am feeling a bit yuck today. Have had a scratchy throat for a couple of days, and no energy, and feeling achey. So why is it that I am feeling guilty about being on the sofa with a book and my Ipad? Yesterday I made two cakes and meant to slice and freeze them, but when I came down late this morning, they were still there waiting. Have now put them in the freezer, but did sample a slice of the Date, Walnut and Banana one. The second load of washing is churning, after DH stripped and remade the bed. It took him ages, but I left him to it today. I could do with a cup of tea, but himself is dozing on the other sofa, he'll wake up when the machine starts to spin, I hope. Told you! Tea here in a mo.

Mamie Tue 15-Sept-15 12:51:13

No need KateK. grin
We have a huge amount of work here in spring, summer and autumn, but in winter rural France is completely dead, so we have lots of sofa days (apart from log hauling!).

Katek Tue 15-Sept-15 12:45:18

confused Am hanging head in shame

Mamie Tue 15-Sept-15 11:42:12

I have just spent three hours strimming and mowing the lawn after our holiday. It was pretty damp so much harder work than usual. OH is now doing the other half of it. Then deadheading and picking masses of veg so that we can make chutney tomorrow when the rain comes again.
The work never stops here!

soontobe Tue 15-Sept-15 11:35:22

I had 3 days of that at the weekend. I even cut down on gransnet posting.
Back to normal today! grin

jinglbellsfrocks Tue 15-Sept-15 11:30:47

hilda you are completely and absolutely exonerated.

#putyerfeetupgirl

Indinana Tue 15-Sept-15 10:32:46

Funnily enough I was up at 3.30 too! But that was only because I couldn't sleep so I came down for a hot drink, stayed up for an hour and went back to bed. And slept till 9.00! shock

Katek Tue 15-Sept-15 10:24:34

3.30am!! What on earth were you doing up at that time of night Hilda?

hildajenniJ Tue 15-Sept-15 10:16:17

Get up and go has gone! I must watch what I type!

hildajenniJ Tue 15-Sept-15 10:14:58

I beat you all! I've been up since 03.30. Whizzed round at work, three hours is just long enough to do the job. Since getting back home though, all my get up and gone had gone. I am now sitting on the sofa with the hudl and a cup of coffee. The housework that I didn't do yesterday is still waiting. I really must do the dusting and waltz round with the vacuum cleaner before bed time.grin

Indinana Tue 15-Sept-15 10:11:21

Oh yes, tea definitely Katek - made and delivered by my DH with any luck grin

Katek Tue 15-Sept-15 10:09:05

Copious amounts of tea Indinana!
