Have you ever been camping?

When I was younger but not for the last 30 years.

Do you speak with an accent?

I think not, living in Oxfordshire all my life. However, DDs are often told that they sound like 'carrot crunchers'. Of course the local accent is far removed from the 'Oxford' accent!

What, if any, is your favourite take-away meal?

Fish and chips.

How old is your house?

It's 65 years old

Does anyone think they are a terrible cook?

Yes. I can bake alright and I can cook vegetables but if I have to cook a meal for more than three people I get in a dreadful panic.

Can you light a real fire without fire lighters?

Haven't done for years but it used to be my job as a 9 to 18 year old and did it in our first home when married. I would imagine I could still do it!

Can you put up wall paper?

I always did the wallpapering but I last did it 2 yrs ago and vowed. never again !

If you drive, how old were you when you passed your test.

I was about 25 years old, and passed first time, much to my surprise!

What is your favourite item of clothing, past or present?

At the moment, it's jeggings, but I'm very fickle.

Is there any housework which you enjoy?

Cats! Shysal - I've never heard of zawadibengals, so what am I like (as they say)?

DH have spent a whole week recently 'spring' cleaning the house, including shampooing all the carpets and upholstery and washing and ironing the curtains. It's been enjoyable having quite a big project to undertake together and we're done now. We normally do it in the spring but this year I had a hip replacement in March so it didn't get done. Normally I hate housework.

Where did you go on holiday this year?

3 nights in a caravan in N Wales with DS and 3 DGC. Exhausting but they loved it!!

No

Is there a skill you wish you had learnt?

I would like to speak another language fluently.

Are you fluent in more than one language?

Yes - German. I learnt it in school to O level (remember those?) and kept it up by regular holiday visits. And in 1989 I was seconded to a German company based in Munich for 3 months as a liaison while they were building a system for us. You soon learn the language if you are immersed in it every day.

Can you whistle?

Yes, with and without the aid of my fingers

I would not have married my first real boyfriend. I was far too naïve and young.

I only listen to the radio in the car. It's set to Radio 1

But having said that, the living room is and the kitchen and utility, but if anyone knows of a free painter and decorator, send him or her my way please.

Yes, probably too regularly if I'm honest!

Yes - an extremely clever, well read, knowledgeable friend who has strong opinions. Half the time I don't understand what she is talking about but I like her!
