I'm feeling quite down at the minute so decided to start a light hearted thread to cheer myself up a bit. smile

I will start.

I'm back with more trivia about myself!

I'm not a bad cook, but I can't bake a cake to save my life.

I've just started a diet as I want to lose about 10lb before going on holiday in November, when I'll gain about 10lb....

I'm married to a London taxi driver.

We still have a son living with us, so no chance of empty nest syndrome in the near future.

I've been off GN for a while and have just spent a happy half hour reading this fab thread! Hope it has made you happy too Gillybob.

I have always been good at arty things but rubbish at all sports
I can only handle a short 'wash and go' hairstyle
I hate cheese and coffee

I got married pregnant at 17 but managed to have a successful career, get a degree and raise 5 happy children
I love going to the theatre
Can't drink gin, it makes me cry! Love sherry but it makes me talk too much, stick to a bottle or two of wine ??

I can't ride a bike, have a phobia of cockroaches and dalmatians, according to my genealogy research my great -great grandmother was a hawker of fish and I love custard tarts!

I was on the quiz show Fifteen to One in 1997, didn`t win, but wasn`t first off either. William G Stewart was very nice.

I can`t stand not having a book to read, so make sure there`s always a pile waiting.

I`m scared of the dark.

Some more about me...

I divorced at 46
Remarried at 56....My ds gave me away.
I'm retired and love it.
My car has done only 8k miles in 5 years cos we always go out in dhs Qashqai.
Never wanted only one child...now also have three stepson, 4 boys altogether.
My best friends I've known for 35 years and 16 years.
I have lived in Spain, Libya and Belgium.

I was an evacuee from London Blitz during WW2 after being bombed out twice and machine gunned twice.

I have a big WW2 website visited well over 35,000 times from folk worldwide.

I never bothered to learn how to drive.

I like to help students with their WW2 history.

I love children and animals.

I have written books about the first 20 years of my life that takes in the war years, plus I have written poetry books and all proceeds from any books that I have written, after printing costs taken out, has gone to my local childrens hospice. I HAD so many folks coming to me about the book I wrote concerning the war from worldwide I decided to put it on my website.

I am now on quite a bit of medication due to the fact that I started with Epilepsy when I was 80yrs old and had a pacemaker put in when I was 82.

I have a super granddaughter and lovely d-i- l plus one very good son and I consider myself a VERY lucky lady to still be here and be able to join in any forums.

I am now 85yrs of age and carer of hubby who is is 87yrs and he has had Dementia for the past three years. It will be our 66th wedding anniversary on the 17th of this month.
Where has all the time gone. ????????????

I have Parkinsons which totally -pisses- hacks me off.
I was a ball girl at one of the Wimbledon qualifying tournaments - we were all given a ticket to No 1 court as a thank you.
At the Festival of Britain in 1951 I was part of a team who gave a hockey demonstration in the sports arena.
I love my Kindle.
I hate bullying of any kind and, on a trivial note, beetroot.

Kindle had a disastrous effect on my bank account when I first got it.

I play the flute now. It's never to late to learn.

I wish someone would invent a mug that looks like a normal size mug but stops half way down inside so it would look as if I finish my cups of tea.

I went to a boys' school, even though I've never been a boy.

i think that my OP is very boring compared with most of the others. Although I haven't lived a very exciting life so far .

I am really impressed with some of your achievements, confessions, likes and dislikes and can honestly say I have thoroughly enjoyed reading each and every one of them. So, despite recent events I am feeling cheered up and have even giggled at some of the posts.

Now drive the scruffiest Yaris in Cheshire
Used to ride an orange moped
Love flying - would have liked to have been a pilot
Hate airports, especially Paris CDG
Like train travel preferably TGV to Provence
At school, did Classics and won Classical recitation competitions
Loved hockey as teenager but never made First XI sad
Played tennis - badly
Played squash, slightly better
Can't stand beetroot or prunes
Have never eaten figs because can't dissociate them from syrup of figs forced down me as child
Am lazy and untidy blush
Am hooked on late night on-line shopping
Have never watched the whole of The Sound of Music
Have never watched Emmerdale or Hollyoaks
Bookworm

You all probably know much about me as I have posted on lots of threads but here goes.

I love anything sweet, chocolate especially.

Recovering from cancer has made me want to do all the things I never have done and I want to do them NOW.

I adore snakes.

Love playing with DGD, climbing frames, trees and tree hugging.

I am a white witch, love sending candle magic to heal and always sending good energy to anyone in trouble. (Never bad)

Love animals, wildlife and birds.

I write short stories never had any published though and

I am back at work next week 'cheers' and 'groans' at the same time as I love being out and about but got no money to spend when I get there so I must knuckle down and be part of the rat race again.

I flew to the bottom of the Grand Canyon in a helicopter for a champagne breakfast.

I don't like snakes

I've been tee-total since my early 30's

Apple pies are my favourite thing to bake.

Have never been to Scotland or Ireland (shame on me)

Spent the last 25yrs trying to get my 2nd hubby on a plane (my plan isn't working grin

I also love being retired.

Anno wanting to be a pilot has brought back my longing to go wing walking! I might hate it when up there, but have always wanted to have a go.
I`ll run a mile from a worm, but love handling caterpillars and snakes.
Terrified of moths, but love butterflies.
Would love to visit Machu Pichu.
