loopy I had a picture then of shorts AND bottle under a surplice! Not a pretty sight, even worse than old gardening clothes. As our lady vicar is normally the most elegant vicar I have ever met in my life, I can understand why she was so mortified.

I hope the sun is out again tomorrow, I have hundreds of bulbs to plant, They are to replace those eaten annually by voles, mice and deer. Pheasants eat the berries, pigeons eat my grapes, herons and kingfishers eat my goldfish, rabbits eat anything they can get their paws on and mice eat the marrows and raspberries and cherry tomatoes, aided by snails. I think wildlife must cost me hundreds every year, what with fat balls etc.

I hope everybody is behaving themselves in the Kitchen in Soop's absence -a well deserved wee break.

Ah loos I have known. Being a Scot me, I once tried to save the 1 Euro it cost to use a "super loo" in Berlin by nipping in straight after DH while the door was open.
Mistake
1) They swoosh round the floor between uses
2) The door then swings RIGHT OPEN presumably to aid drying(?) before resetting for the next widdler.
Result, wet feet, red face, serve me right. The only consolation is that it was on a sort of central reservation on a wide road rather than a pavement, so only DH to witness my discomfiture

Doctor thinks that Simvastatin may possibly to blame for my symptoms. I'm to stop them right away and have bloods taken next week.

I know we are all made differently but a friend of mine was told Simvastatin didn't suit her too. Hubby takes Statins and I swear he has never been the same since starting them but he won't listen.

Glad to hear Rory improving. Perhaps he heard you discussing 'leaving him' for a few days and is letting you know he doesn't think much of it

Yes at last the sun is shining in NW London. Tara woke me at 4am wanting to go out but it was too early so we settled down for another few hours sleep. She went out at 8am but returned around 15 minutes later. I think she had forgotten to have any breakfast. That will be her out now until after 9pm tonight. Where does she go? I am certain that she does not have another comfortable dry home because when it is raining, recently she has come home mildly damp.

Yes, in a way I should have asked about possible side effects of Simvastatin, a very long time ago. To say that I feel "rough" is an understatement. I had no idea that the medication could be causing so many problems. We shall see if and how my health improves. Blood tests for possible liver damage and other stuff cannot be done until Friday week. Never mind...I'm so pleased that MacS twisted my arm and marched accompanied me along to the surgery.

Rory and MacS are enjoying a peaceful nap. I was saddened to see how troubled MacS was when Rory wouldn't eat and took himself off to out-of-the-way places.

Medications are a minefield, what with side effects, avoiding other meds or foodstuffs, when to take and so forth. Hopefully the side effects can be reversed, though sometimes that takes a wee while.

loopylou how very kind of you. It's nothing horrendously serious. I am relieved though that there may well be a turning point. I understand that it can take a few months to restore some balance to the system. I'm very thankful to the GP for taking her time to weigh up the situation thoroughly.

As for a wee dram that is tomorrow evening's treat.

Sorry you are poorly soop I am still mourning the loss of my painkillers due to them quietly wrecking my kidneys behind my back. Yours will recover - but they will tell you to stop the wee drams, tea and coffee I suspect!

I'd be petrified that it would gracefully sink down taking me with it... Do you think there's a subterranean Kingdom, similar to that of the Phantom of the Opera, where long lost pop-up loo-using individuals are doomed to live out their days?

Sorry you are getting troublesome side effects from your simvastatin soop - these things are always a balance between effectiveness and side effects. There are different sorts of statins I believe, so maybe another would suit better. Good luck with that.

I've come in for some more tlc and I'm sorry you have been feeling poorly soop. You have been very brave not to moan!
I feel as though I'm waiting for a disaster to occur but can't quite put my finger on which situation is likely to escalate - I hate it.

kitty I hate feeling like that too. I wish I was one of those positive upbeat people who never worry. Here, I'll make you a (brew), you sit down and put your feet up and see who else will pop into the kitchen to cheer you up.

soop hope you feel better soon. My DH couldn't get on with statins either. Made him feel really poorly.

I have that churning feeling today - DBH's lower rate sickness pay has come into play and he had to go in and see our mortgage lenders this morning. I know now he feels better, otherwise he would not have felt well enough to make the journey, so at least I know he is better. If he is unsuccessful we shall be spending Xmas in soup's kitchen!

One of the little(ish) things is the Idiot and, as a result of his stupidity and SS overreaction, yesterday DD3 opened the door to a couple of large policemen and a riot van!! DGS2 didn't believe they were real policemen as they didn't have their hats on!
