Oooh yes, forgot those, what a memory you have!
What made you fall in love with comedy?
Day One of my personal challenge, no alcohol for September - anyone care to join me ...?
Oooh yes, forgot those, what a memory you have!

Trying to think what other emoticons I remember......

Alright for some! Out partying indeed. Why would Toblerone hurt you btw?
I guess if someone whacked you over the head with the jumbo sized one....
Just to say night night
...k'd
Back tomorrow when DS and dgd have left ...
Ana

roses, I thought I'd mentioned the house offer to you before...but anyway, not counting my
s yet!
Toblerone? Why would anyone want to eat a chocolate that hurts you?
Sorry Roses we're all out partying tonight it seems, but thanks for the emoticons
I left DiL's 49th early with the GC but I think they're all still awake! I'm not going to look in on them in case that starts them off again...'I need a wee/a glass of water/my knee hurts'
. Bet they're all awake by 5.30 am!!

Ana glad that you have a house offer, hope it will all go smoothly for you.
I do the same thing with Toblerone or Maltesers.
I remember that strawberry creams had been mentioned quite a while ago, so am guessing that somebody scoffed a whole boxful?

Just discovered that DiL's mother had intended to wear the same top as the one I'm wearing tonight
I'm fine with that as she's a rather stout voluptuous person who like to squeeze herself into a size 14 and I'm a size 12-14 who likes to buy the correct size [catty emoticon]
Ra-ra skirt most definately Maggie - it will complement the purple leg warmers and red heels perfectly
go on - I dare you! I do hope you don't break anything in your attempts to get to bed tonight, especially if you miss and Iand on one of the GC
- will
be playing any part in your evening romp as I'm shuddering at the thought if that is added to the mix.
Enjoy your do, Anya! I'm at a 70s/80s disco tonight, so not quite as classy as your evening. I will be wearing purple legwarmers, big earrings, red heels and a little trilby (other stuff as well of course, but I've not decided what yet - can I get away with a ra-ra skirt at 60, do you think?
).
We walked down to a Christmas market at our next village last night, but it was about half the size we expected and rather spoilt by the drizzle. Only just over 3,000 steps, I'm afraid, and today's not looking good either (though perhaps I'll add a lot of dancing steps tonight!). We're sorting and fettling as two of the DGS are staying over tonight - all the junk that's crept into the spare bedrooms over recent guest-free months is now in ours. How we're going to even get into our bed tonight is beyond me
A flying leap over the crib and Moses basket, launching off the nearly full charity shop bag, and a back flip from DGS1's Christmas bike might just do it.
I'm thinking about my December challenge, too. I was considering going for rationing my internet time
, but I'm not sure how I'll cope with the shakes withdrawal symptoms. The waist-whittling never really happened in November. Perhaps I should continue with that challenge and bring out the hula hoop next month.
Oh yes, I'd definitely recommend The Lady in the Van. So much fun
Ana's the Queen of Emoticons. She says she knows the formulae but I think she just has a stash hidden in her bedside cabinet.
Sounds like the PT was a big success JG are you going to stick with her every week?
Think we might put a Christmas tree up soon too. The 'get the silver toes out' do is tonight (last night was family meal) but I'm only going to stop till 9.00pm then I'll take all four GC back to,our house for an overnighter. They'll have to bunk 2-to a bed, but should be fun
.....won't it????
We're nearing a new month. I'm reasonably happy with my steps and intend to keep those going, but I must get back into low carb eating, which has somewhat slipped when there was a need for comfort food.
So barring Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day I'm going back on a strict low carb régime. I know Maggie is a 5:2 person but I tried that and found it too hard to stick to, as I started dreading the fast days. Respect to those who can stick with it as I know it works for them. Low carb suits me really well, I enjoy cooking and I need to find the energy I used to have.
Finding the 'diet' that suits your lifestyle is all important.
Where did you get that from Ana ... Lol

Not long to wait now, jg!
X-posts Anya
Oh flip Anya - as if it's not bad enough having to search all this stuff out and then you get treated like a criminal - next time wear all black and a balaclava - just like everyone else ....big burly bloke will probably ignore you then
Personal terrorist trainer was indeed gentle with me - we took a good long walk and then did a few stretches when we got back.. it was perfect - so good in fact that I have done 8,964 steps today!! So here I am back in the gang
I do hope your evening went well Anya and that the sparkly toenails did the trick - and that you kept it zipped when it came to the dreadful m-i-l ....
Maggie I really want to see that film - do you recommend it - without walking around the auditorium that is - I'd be too busy munching the maltesers
Christmas tree is going up on Sunday - ready for a couple of pre-christmas events this coming week and also because I am stupidly excited about all things christmassy and the DGD's love it all - I want to enjoy it with them while I can and the build-up is fab. I have DS and diva 1 here this weekend - she wants to write a list from the Argos catalogue letter to Santa and would like some Grandma help - well at least I get to pick up some hints for presents
Really - how much longer do we have to wait for CHRISTMAS EMOTICONS ...

Time for bed
I did manage to bite my lip Ana but it was hard - I don't suffer fools easily.
The brush with the security guard made a good dinner story too. Actually it's not the first time I had a security guard come after me, I once put food into someone else's trolley (we had both left them in the veg aisle as we sorted through the fruit and vegetables) and I put my selection into her trolley, thinking it was mine, and continued down several aisles until stopped by a security man and an almost hysterical woman who accused me of stealing her shopping!
I'm not safe out without a minder!
Only 3000 steps today.
And what if you had been doing a price comparison? It's not against the law, is it...?
Meanwhile, shoplifters and the like probably had a field day while the security guard was otherwise engaged! (I know they probably have more than one, but even so...)
Hope you enjoy yourself tonight, Anya and manage to avoid a confrontation with your DIL's mother
How did the session go JG ....I don't think personal trainers do 'gently' somehow [sympathetic face emoticon] ???
Before I dash off to find something to wear to DiL's 'family meal' tonight (message to self ... do not pick a quarrel with her awful mother)
i was in 'big' Sainsbury's in Leamington when it occurred to me that lots of the condemned items on my BER list for the insurers were sold there. Because I have to come up with a price for every single item on that list I thought a good idea would be to photograph everything that was about the same as the lost items using my mobile. That way I'd have a photo of the item and the price underneath it
Progressing happily around the kitchen and electrical department I was suddenly aware I was being followed, spied upon, not very subtly by a security guard in a fluorescent jacket. Being subtle myself I turned and said 'are you following me' which took him back I could see. He said 'yes, he'd been told to watch the lady with the scarf (it is quite distinctive) and he wanted to know what I was doing. Personally I thought it was a b****y cheek so I help up my phone and asked if it was illegal to photograph things. He said he thought I was doing a price comparison. Anyway I kindly put him out of his misery and explained what I was up to, but don't you think it's a bit off setting a big, burly security guard on a poor, little OAP just because she taking pictures of ironing boards and toasters?
