The refugees aren't, obviously, but IS is quite likely to be doing so.

We shouldn't bury our heads in the sand over this. IS attrocities are carefully planned. Nobody knows whether or not they are taking advantage of the refugee situation.

Denmark is changing some of it's policies towards refugees (in the Daily Wail ) today. They are cutting 'social benefits' by 50% I think that means money.
No bringing in other members of your family until you have resided there for a year. And, you will learn Danish.
And we are the nasty country?

Strangely, Denmark is now governed by the right wing.

The language test for immigrants has always been the case. It's not new. Once they have passed a language test they get more benefit.
How many people on here think that all immigrants coming here should have to learn English? What's the difference, apart from the fact I have never heard anyone say they should get more benefit if they pass a language test.

Asylum seekers in this country get £35 per week plus shared accommodation. Sorry, but we still are the nasty country.

Refugees are welcome in Denmark, by the people of Denmark. This is why.

So why aren't more migrants trying to get into Denmark instead of here. Obviously it's a lot easier logistically

They are. Lots of those going to Germany continue up to Denmark and Sweden. The good things do not get in our papers.

Denmark is a small country with less than 6m people.

Yes, the UK is more than three times the size of Denmark, but the population density per square km of the UK is 262.00 compared to Denmark's 130.90.

So they have more space for extra people.

Yes, I've read it, rose. As I said above, this is the new right wing government saying that. There was an election in July, I think, and although the previous PM, Kinnock's daughter in law, leads the biggest party, the right wing formed a bigger coalition.
However, Denmark still takes in more and give more to refugees than this country does.

At the beginning of this year both the governments of Libya and Egypt gave warning of this happening.

I think it is more likely this is happening than not. Why wouldn't IS do it, after all Europe has made is so easy to do.

Did you ever think that the reason that Denmark is not densely populated is because the land is not hospitable due to the climate?

It is quite densely populated, 650 psm in UK and 333 in Denmark. I would not call that sparse. It's just a very small area compared to here. It consists of lots of small islands, but that does not make it inhospitable, any more than Scotland. In fact it is flat like East Anglia, so good for growing crops, etc.
What makes you think the climate is worse than here? My son has been on holiday there, and it was 27 degrees most of the time when it was raining and miserable here. I think you have the wrong country, Penstemmon.
