My MIL was very careful with money and when FIL died she was left comfortably off , owning her own home and car, with a pension and £200K in the bank.
MIL then wrote cheques to each of her two sons at Christmas and for their birthdays every year. The amount to each son never varied
The younger son received a cheque for £1000 every time.
Please guess the amount on the cheques the eldest son received.
