...I thought I had better be a good granny and make a chocolate cake to keep them going through the week. It seemed like an ok idea. I have done it often enough before.
Big mistake!!! Everything that could go wrong, went wrong.
Luckily I tasted it before I put it in the oven - with no sugar in it. That could be remedied easily enough
if some of the mixture hadn't snuk (sp?) it's way quietly onto the kitchen floor on it's journey from pans back into bowl, or bowl back into pans. And if I had seen said mixture on floor before treading it all over the place.
And if I had pointed the mixer with the mixture-coated beater inwards on the work surface. Then I wouldn't have brushed against them and got choccy mixture on my clean cardi.
And if I had given up there and then and left the sodding cake kitchen, I would not have spilt caster sugar on the floor. Is there anything worse than scrunching on spilt sugar when you move around the kitchen? Eurgh!
Never mind. It's done and dusted now. Kids will enjoy. and I will go to bed right now
